Abstract
Nowadays, there are a lot of piano teachers in Hong Kong. Some of them may obtained a bachelor of Music awarded by some famous universities. Some of them may obtained high level grades in ABRSM examination. However, they may not know how to teach efficiently, because each piano student has a unique collection of personality traits and learning preferences. Therefore, teachers should create a unique teaching method for each student for fulfilling his/her need. It is a difficult challenge to the piano teacher.
The major purpose of this study was to identify the methods to learn piano by different sensory modalities. Although many literature covers a wide variety of such theories and findings of learning style and personality types, This article focuses on sensory modalities theory and brings to a consideration of music teachers who wish to adapt their teaching to match the student's needs.
This review will focus on four major themes. These themes are: 1. Learn piano by auditory modality; 2. Learn piano by Visual modality; 3. Learn piano by kinesthetic modality 4. Learn piano by Combination modality.

It can help the piano teachers think of and design a good teaching strategies for their special students. Although different students have different talents and weaknesses, teachers should not accept and tolerate their weaknesses. Teachers should help them too address these. Therefore, teachers have to observe their students closely and search the best teaching method. For example, when you teach a visual student who always plays the song mechanically, you may write down some expressive symbols, words and signs with pencil on the music score. It could make some hints to the students because they always read through the score before preforming. It might help them learn
