Hurkos aka Pieter Van Der Hurk of the Netherlands is famous for his information about Charles Manson and the Boston Strangler. Twice Hurkos was arrested for impersonating an Officer/Federal Agent to obtain information. In spite of these run ins with the law, the case in Ann Arbor did prove that Hurkos had intuitive abilities. Sheriff Douglas Harvey who headed the investigation was interviewed on Oct 13, 2013 and during the discussion admitted that Hurkos correctly identified that the culprit was foreign born, and did use a makeshift ladder and would have foreign currency on his person at the time of arrest. These three facts seem so farfetched that I cannot but believe that Hurkos was legitimate. That is to say, Hurkos had psychic abilities
On 05-22-17 at approximately 1906 hours, I was dispatched to Del Mar Boulevard and Edmondson Alley regarding a possible suicidal individual. Witness #2 Jaime Sanchez Huerta advised dispatch that Suspect Juan Hernandez-Trinidad was talking about killing himself, NFD. Huerta was reportedly following Hernandez eastbound on Del Mar Boulevard to Arroyo Parkway. Upon my arrival, I was flagged down by Huerta who was standing with Hernandez on the north sidewalk of Del Mar Boulevard east of Arroyo Parkway. I
On May 23, 1957, three police officers in the city of Cleveland, Ohio knocked on the door of Dolly Mapp and held up a piece of paper that wasn’t the warrant that gave them access inside. The three officers gave Mapp very little information as to why they were there. The real reason they were there was because an anonymous phone tip stated that Virgil Ogletree, a suspect of a recent bombing, was
Chapter 4 in Pollack's book described the personalities and identities of prisoners. Chapter 3 in van Wormer's book described the foundational components of an offense perpetrated by a female. I will respond to two common issues between the books. These issues are mental health and environment of youth. One interesting overlap between the two readings was on mental health in prison.
In addition to the harrowing case of Ronald Cotton, the reliability of an eyewitness testimony was recently challenged with the incorrect conviction of Kash Register. While sitting in his parked Chevrolet in 1979, an elderly man named Jack Sasson was viciously robbed of his life when he was shot five times at close proximity (Bazelon). Brenda Anderson, a nineteen year old who occupied an apartment on the same street, informed police that she heard the rowdy sound of gunfire, and when she peered out her window, noticed an African-American man stumbling away from the scene, before turning back and firing further rounds (Bazelon). When Anderson was shown photographs of several young men, she quickly recognized Register, who was a previous classmate
This just in! Yesterday, August 18, 1943, the British Army, with the help of the Canadian Army, successfully completed the Allied Invasion of Sicily in Italy. I, Robert Gerstner, your honorable reporter for "Le Journal de Quebec", was lucky enough to witness some of the amazing action from our own Van Doos, who played a vital role in this takeover. My observations piqued my interest so much that I did some research of my own. I discovered that the Royal 22e Regiment has a history like no other, and its involvement in the Second World War is unquestionably worthy of
I located the KPD Rape Case 15-27355 which identified a subject named Ricardo Oropeza-Quiroz (DOB 12-30-1993) as being contacted with Hicks. It was also determined that Oropeza-Quiroz was an involved party in KPD Hit and Run Case 15-22411. In the Rape case, Hicks and Oropeza-Quiroz were people of interest. That case is still under investigation.
In September of 1961, a woman from District of Columbia had an intruder break into her apartment. While the invader of the home was there, they had taken her wallet, and also raped the woman. During the investigation of the crime, the police had found some latent fingerprints in the apartment. The police then established and processed the prints. The prints were then connected back to 16 year old Morris A. Kent.
On August 24, a terrible crime occurred in our country. A young white boy noticed a young African-American male, half-submerged in the Tallahatchie River, at Pecan Point. He notified authorities and when they arrived, they concluded that the body was badly decomposed. They had also noticed a gunshot wound above the right ear, a missing left skull, a tongue swollen eight times its normal size, and an eye dangling from its socket. They had also noticed something peculiar, a ring on his finger with the initials L.T. written on it.
The crime occurred when a money order sales agent, Harold Franks, was leaving a grocery store in Cleveland, Ohio when two men demanding his briefcase confronted him. After resisting, he was whacked on the head with a pipe and splashed in
The perpetrator left a fingerprint on the doorknob of one of the victim’s bedroom doors and a herringbone pattern tennis shoe print in one of the victim’s front yard near the front door. The police questioned about thirty to forty men in the area and focused on one main suspect, Hayes. The police went to Hayes home and requested a fingerprint, and Hayes
Perpetrator Information Hamilton Howard “Albert” Fish is a white male born on 5/19/1870. He is 5’5 and around 130 pounds with a thin body type that was strong for his old age. His hair was grey, thinning, and short with an unshaven face with a mustache. Light complexion and a well groomed appearance but otherwise just looks like a creepy defenseless old man. Fish had a calm and polite facade that he wore around others that he did not know that made him easily trustable to the public.
On 02/08/2017, I, William Van Scoter, was working as a police officer for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 1520 hours I was told to interview a woman who was to believed to have been sexually assaulted. I arrived at the University Police Department's lobby and was met by a female and two males. The female was later identified as Terry Giang. Giang was going to be interview by Detective Jeff Rider
I and my fellow officers at JMPD(James Madison Police Department) were instructed to investigate the murder of Allen Ripley. From scouring the various articles of evidence and witness testimony we are of the firm belief that we have found the perpetrators. Mr. Ripley’s wife Autumn Ripley worked together with his business partner Matthew Piper and murdered Mr. Ripley on the night of July 10th, 2020, at approximately 11:00 P.M. We are sure of this from Witness statements, administered lie detector tests, and testimonies.
Hello Class, July 13 2013 Albert DeSalvo ran out of luck. Evidence finally came up for a crime that could tie DeSalvo to an assault charge of nineteen year old Mary Sullivan. Mr. DeSalvo was also tied to eleven deaths that could not be proven. DeSalvo while on his terror was named the “Boston Strangler. ”(Bulman, 2014)
The Boston Strangling case verdict was reached when DeSalvo confessed to committing the crimes. Although, the authorities were suspicious of DeSalvo being the criminal, they noted that he was able to recall minute and comprehensive details of all the crimes and some of the details he recalled were not of public knowledge. He was soon convicted and sentenced to life in prison. He escaped with fellow inmates and later was captured and transferred to a maximum security prison, where he was stabbed to death. A few years ago in 2001, the case was reopened and DeSalvo’s body was exhumed to obtain a DNA sample.
