Kimberly, One year ago today the North Dakota State Troopers, Morton County Sheriff's Department, and National Guard suited up in riot gear and cleared thousands of water protectors from the Oceti Sakowin camp at Standing Rock. Sovereign native nations have been under attack since before the United States' founding. It is long past the time where we need to recognize these attacks and stand united in helping those who have been hurt so much across the course of history. The Dakota Access Pipeline protests gave me hope that more of us are willing to fight back than ever before.
The Keystone pipeline should not be built because it endangers the environment and has the ability to create catastrophic damages through pollution and habitat desecration. Though many see benefits to the addition of a national pipeline, the effects and dangers must outweigh any slight economic gain. A small gain in government currency should never endanger the future loss of an environment, which is something than can cannot be
The United States of America is a country known for freedom. It is so widely valued that the Constitution lays out the different rules and laws that gives freedom to its citizens. This Constitution protects the right of each citizen; one of the most popularly known amendments is the one stating the protection of “life, liberty and property.” So, if America is a country based off freedom and these rights, why is it that the native culture to this country are the ones whose “life, liberty, and property” are taken away the most? Most can guess which culture is in the previous question: Native Americans. In cruel and forceful ways, Native American’s have moved from their land for generations. Most people know how all of this started when the founders
Dear Steve Harmon , I hope you’re doing well Mr.Harmon , I know you have been through a whole lot of things you would’ve wanted to go through . Now I understand , why people kill and murder others not everyone does it, people have a reason why. But I do believe you are innocent since you are a young boy, of course you’d be nervous or scared. O’Brien gave several reasons why you should come out
TAPS transports 17% of the United State’s domestic petroleum. If the pipeline were to stop, “A loss of that production would increase prices by at least 10 to 16 percent” (Balan). This is very important, as the majority of the American population is in constant need of these resources. A shift this dramatic in the economy would lead to outrage and possible changes in economic inflation. All in all, the Trans Alaska pipeline has provided for a great number of people and has not failed to let them down.
Secondly, Would you ever have the guts to shoot your friend? George may have done it with dignity and for the best but i still don’t think that was okay. George should have looked out for Lennie better than just leaving him alone, or at least let lennie go. If i had that problem, i would have talked to my friend and helped them or go away with them. Shooting your “friend” isn’t being a friend. George didn’t even show emotion he just looked down. I cannot shoot my friend that i took care of, i’d probably see them as a child or younger sibling. He may have done it for the best but he should have thought it more through.
Controversy Surrounding the Keystone XL Pipeline To build or not to build, this choice will impact the relationship between the US and Canada and determine the level of dependence the US will have on countries that are not so friendly. “TransCanada’s proposed Keystone XL Pipeline would transport oil sands crude from Canada and shale oil produced in North Dakota and Montana to a market hub in Nebraska for delivery to Gulf Coast refineries. The pipeline would consist of 875 miles of 36-inch pipe with the capacity to transport 830,000 barrels per day” (Parfomak, Pirog, Luther and Vann 4). The construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline would strengthen the United States economy, provide energy security and have minimal environmental impact. “The Keystone XL project would create $1.1 trillion in private capital investment at no
As The Assembly of The First Nations Regional Chief for British Columbia, I say that the Enbridge Pipeline is a risk to the environment, the ecosystems, the health and the safety to the First Nations and the citizens of British Columbia. We First Nations have had 21,000 people sign off on the online petition “hold the wall”. The pipeline route will interfere homes of where six First Nations live and their willing to put their lives on hold to fight against the Enbridge Pipeline.
In my opinion I am against the pipeline. The negative effects out way the positives of the pipeline. To begin with, there isn't a real need for the pipeline, so why spend billions of dollars on a pipeline that isn't needed. The cost of the pipeline is extremely high whereas the pipeline might not actually be worth that much to the residents here. There would be taxes and fees that the residents and the business owners would have to pay to pay for the pipeline that could be avoided.
Dear God, why have you forsaken me? What would you have me do? I am a man of faith. I must have faith, or I have nothing! What is the meaning of a life of a reverend if he does not believe the very name he preaches? Sweet Rebecca Nurse shall hang! Poor John Proctor, his reputation torn to ruins by the very people that claim to follow your justice! Still unwilling to cave into confessing a lie even after being sentenced to his untimely death. I have not upheld the justice of my Lord as he has, and yet he is the sinner! Why do the wicked benefit while the just are persecuted? If this is truly your court placed here on earth, why does it believe such prodigious lies? If God loves all and forgives all their sins, then he has forsaken this town,
The sententious construction of the pipeline will help…”create thousands of jobs”(DAPL:top pros and cons). By implying more jobs, it allows many people to have the opportunity to have a workplace in which they can earn the money to pay off and bills presented. Even if the pipeline can produce more jobs, but the pipeline would not cause any major incidents. Once the Dakota Access Pipeline is bonded into place, workers wondered if there, shall be a decrease in ant incidents than other major pipeline that recently resulted in spillages. The DAPL both pros and cons, states that there is a new way of “oil freight ages…to major refining markets in a more productive way towards the environment.”
As you must know, the Dakota Pipeline has been a residing issue for a while now. I believe that we should continue the production of this pipeline. Building this pipeline will benefit our country in multiple ways. For example, by building the Dakota Pipeline, 8,000 to 12,000 jobs will be created.
To Whom It May Concern, April 25th, 1252 It is my professional opinion that Lancelot du Lac would be a grand choice for the position of head knight of Camelot. Not only does he have the necessities for the position he also has numerous expanding qualities that will be needed to truly lead the attack. Lancelot was a wonder to watch take on his colleagues while training at the guild.
