“Pit Bulls are beauty without vanity, strength without insolence, courage without ferocity, and all the virtues of a man without the vices”. (“A quote by George Gordon Byron.” ) People mistreat Pit Bulls and use them in illegal dog fights causing them to be aggressive. Most people think that since Pit Bulls have a strong, fierce appearance they are aggressive. One reason Pit Bulls are put out on the street is because some places have banned ownership of them. People who use Pit Bulls in these illegal dog fights torture and use them as bait. Even though individuals believe negatively about Pit Bulls, subsequently there are more positive effects, that are not taken into account because of their bad reputation, being misunderstood and not being considered an amazing companion. …show more content…

“When someone says the name “Pit Bull”, most people either think that of a vicious dog or aware that others think of them that way”.(“The Truth behind the Pit Bull Terrier.”) Most people think that since Pit Bulls have a strong, fierce appearance they are aggressive. Seeing people be afraid of a Pit Bull is upsetting, they 're missing out on so much. There is no other breed that stirs up so much emotion. If you adopt a Pit Bull from a shelter and they are aggressive, then they were most likely abused or abandoned by their past owner. For example, if we could flip a switch and every Pit Bull Terrier would disappear off the face of the Earth the breed would soon be replaced with a different type of dog that would get the same bad reputation.
