With so much to remember, watch out for, keep track of, and keep under control it can become very confusing to those who are beginning in woodworking. “Plain Old-Fashioned Woodworking” by John Vivian states that there is one very simple rule that all good woodworkers follow, and it is super easy to remember. That rule is: let the tool do the work. To explain, it becomes extremely exhausting to the operator of the power tool if they are trying to force it through the wood. However, if they would apply gentle pressure in the direction that they want the tool to move then it will go in that direction and it will take less time to accomplish that task. Forcing a tool through the wood can cause it to wear out too fast and quit before it should;
