THE ROLE OF ETHICAL ISSUES, HEALTH EDUCATION AND NURSING INFORMATICS IN REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH IN SUB SAHARAN REGION There are many ethical aspects which derive from the application of reproduction control in women's health. Women's health can be enhanced if women are given the opportunity to make their own reproduction choices about sex, contraception, abortion and application of reproductive technologies. The main issues that raise ethical dilemmas following the development of assisted reproduction techniques are: the right to procreate or reproduce; the process of in vitro fertilization itself-is it morally acceptable to interfere in the reproduction process?
The forces of pronatalism are significant to women as it is the philosophy responsible for the persistent idea that a woman’s destiny and ultimate fulfilment is entrenched in childbearing and motherhood. Furthermore, pronatalism focuses on the advantages of having children while minimizing the disadvantages (Veevers, 1980). It creates the mother hood mandate the idea that regardless of whatever she chooses to do in life, a woman’s role must involve maternity (Russo,1976). Pronatalism comes at women from every angle, from the religious command to mother, to psychological theories which define maternity as a requirement for healthy female psychological development (Daniluk, 1999). Similarly it is at work in the media,
Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, decided to help spread knowledge about family planning after nursing a woman back to health from a botched abortion. Sanger would open her first birth control clinic on October 16th, 1916 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. She wouldn’t stop there. One hundred years later, 1 in 5 women visit Planned Parenthood in the United States to take advantage of their several services that they provide which include knowledge about contraceptives, STD tests and treatments, pregnancy tests, screenings for breast and cervical cancer, and more. About half of Planned Parenthood centers also provide abortions.
Cultural diversity makes our world interesting and unique. However, birth is the unifying factor among all people of this earth. Jan Mallak describes it best in her article when she claims that by being “humanly” sensitive and providing equal care for all, we are as politically correct as we can be. Childbirth educators have the wonderful opportunity to promote change and acceptance through education and advocacy. By incorporating cultural awareness and sensitivity into the curriculum, childbirth educators assist all women and families to have a positive and beautiful birth experience.

Everyone has an opinion and may say that birth control shouldn’t be used at such a young age. The point of birth control is to help not conceive and some believe that young women shouldn’t be having intercourse at such a young age. Doctors usually give prescriptions to young women who request they want birth control. The young women should get checks-ups frequently to assure that she is capable of taking birth control. The improperness of birth control can be effective to teens who are sexually active.
According to Shilton’s Advocacy Model, it is important to identify the evidence sources that will support the model and ensure that it remains on course to achieving the objectives. In health care advocacy, lobbying is one of the strategies applied in supporting the sources of information for a strategy (Hansen-Turtonet et al., 2010). As a result, some of the sources of information that will apply in the strategy include the government websites that list the importance of nurse-managed health centers and why they need community support. In using the lobbying method to advocate for the support of the nurse-managed health centers, we will enforce the message to all the stakeholders and the community in
As a nursing professional it will be my goal to improving the health and well-being of women, children and families. I am specifically interested in maternal and child healthcare. I would like to work with this population because there is a great need and the disparities in infant mortality rates have continued to increase over the years despite effort to decrease this trend. A mother’s health profoundly affects the health and well-being of her children so working to close the gaps in health disparities means reaching women prior to pregnancy and educating them on the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
III. The support side of the Teenage Pregnancy strategy was backed up by an intervention that targeted areas of high deprivation with high conception areas. This would help pilot a government initiative that aimed to reduce the risk of long-term social exclusion associated with teenage pregnancy that helped by providing intensive support for parents and children to help them with housing, healthcare, parenting skills, education and child care. (1) “The claim that all humans, whatever their race, gender, religion, or age, have the right to life seems evident enough”.
With gay couples adopting there could be so many more homes open for these kids and orphans. I’m sure that these foster kids would prefer to live in a loving home with a gay couple rather than being tossed around foster home to foster home. The requirements of being a parent shouldn’t focus on the person’s sexual orientation but their ability to be caring, devoted, and
It can provide beneficial information, counseling, and healthcare to people of all ages and genders. What are the advantages of having and using Planned Parenthood services? How can it be useful to everyone? What is Planned Parenthood?:
Charlotte Taft once said “Women who have abortions do so because they value life and because they take very seriously the responsibilities that come not just with birth, but with nurturing a human being”. The Editorial Board at The New York Times believes in this statement as well. The Editorial Board published an editorial on June 27, 2016 titled “A major Victory for Abortion Rights”. The article published, is about a change in Texas 's anti-abortion law and is intended for woman who can or will bear children. The editorial was created to persuade these women that if another woman who is pregnant and cannot keep the unborn child or does not want to keep the child, that these women should have the right to abort the embryo or fetus legally.
They are committed to their statement of “Level One Care for All”. Thousands of Denver residents rely on this medical organization for their families’ health and care. Through their established reputation and continued marketing of their services, they will continue to grow, innovate and seek to provide quality health care to future generations. It is difficult to market a hospital, yet their public relations department keeps the organization in the eye of the community. This is their strongest promotional strategy and has greatly contributed to their
Beauchamp and Childress describe justice as “fair, equitable, and appropriate treatment in light of what is due or owned to persons” (2013, p. 250). Despite the passing of ACA in 2010, there is still an ongoing debate about the right to health care in the U.S (Beauchamp and Childress, 2013). Unfortunately, many issues related to women reproductive health such as contraception and abortion coverage remains controversial. The right to sexual and reproductive health is an essential part of everyone’s right to highest attainable physical and mental health (Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights [CESCR], 2016). The CESCR and the Committee on Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) have both clearly identified sexual and reproductive
Planned Parent Hood Funding Planned Parent Hood is funded by multiple different ways, by donations, money that they profit off from there services and federal tax dollars. There has always been an argument between are politicians rather there should be a cut in government funding towards Planned Parenthood and many Americans would argue the fact that rather their tax payer money should or shouldn’t fund Planned Parent, personally I think it should be founded by federal tax dollars. But, what really is Planned Parenthood, and what are American tax payers’ money paying for?
