Currently, the residents of this program rotate among five different teaching hospitals which that have more than 2400 inpatient beds. In this training program, a number of fields are covered such as aesthetic surgery, application of microsurgery, lower extremity reconstruction and others. This program is aimed at providing the high quality plastic surgical care to the patients as well as best education to the students, fellows and residents of the program. During this period of time, you spend significant amount of time in developing your knowledge in plastic surgery. In the next 7 years, you undergo broad education to widen your knowledge in order to become leaders in the world. Presentation at the national, state or the chief residents’ conference is a mandatory part of the program. During the training program, you get the opportunity to work in a number of affiliated hospitals and you commit one year of your program towards conducting research. Every hospital has a Plastic Surgery division and during the training, residents are rotated through all the hospitals that provide extensive exposure for their training in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Applicants of the Stanford Plastic Surgery Residency Program are accepted at the internship level.
