Taking a simple stroll on any beach, park or anywhere, the plastic waste spectacle is present. All over the world, the statistics on plastic wastage are ever growing, significantly. In Singapore alone, 832,200 tonnes of plastic waste was generated in 2013 and the recycling rate is only 11%. Plastic waste includes plastic bottles, containers etc and all this pose a hazard to marine life as they can be mistaken as food by marine creatures. The amount of plastic waste that is consumed on a daily basis has created many problems around the world, posing potential threat or harm to animals and humans. Hence, the project would be on the topic of environment issue in Singapore or even globally and raising awareness on the needs of recycling.

Many know that plastics are non-biodegradable and takes hundreds of years to break down but little take action about this issue. Plastics are non-biodegradable and takes hundreds of years to break down. When they are landfilled, they take up landfill space. When they are incinerated, they release carbon dioxide and potential toxic gases such as dioxins and pose a hazard to marine life which is often mistaken as food. Too many people still use the recycling bins as convenient dumpsters for all manner of waste. This calls the attention on the versatility of the recycled materials particularly the plastic bottles. Hence, the intention for initiating this project is to raise awareness to the citizen about the plastic wastage in Singapore and globally and properly disposal the wastage. By recycling this plastics, we reduce the environmental impacts associated with the production and disposal of plastics. However, most importantly this project aims to encourage people to cut down the use of plastic bottle and bring a water bottle
