PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Alternative for reducing plastic waste disposal in the University of Windsor
Background of issue
Each and every year, number of students coming to attend University of Windsor for graduate program is increasing day by day. There was total of 38,107 students admitted to University of Windsor in 2017 which is really a very big number and plastic waste generated is unimaginable. There are large number of restaurant and eating joints in and around University of Windsor, which create lot of plastic waste, majority of which consists of plastic bottles from soft drinks. Manufacturing plastic bottles to such a large extent is not good for humans, animals and environment. We need to take some drastic steps.[1]

As indicated by the Environmental Protection Agency, reusing one pound of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the plastic most regularly utilized as a part of water bottles, saves roughly 12,000 BTUs (British thermal units) of heat energy. The reusing procedure utilizes around 66% less energy than conventional manufacturing, fundamentally decreasing the strain on the customary power framework, which depends on the consumption of petroleum products and if reusing it straightaway, it utilizes next to no …show more content…
There are lots of factors which are responsible for the pollution and one of them is plastic waste. We decided to build a green house using plastic bottles. In that way, we can use plastic waste which is very hard or almost impossible to recycle, which causes less pollution to environment. Completion of this project includes procedure of building plant, cost of project, to consider obstacles which may arise during implementation and for that we divided our team into two groups.
Implementation
Out of two groups, one group gathered the general information by visiting various departments of the university. The general information includes the number of plastic bottles we can collect per day, process of collecting plastic bottles and the time needed to gather these plastic wastes. While the other group was given the responsibility of online research such as technical process of building plant, quantity of bottles needed to build plant and outcome of green house. After collecting the information by both groups, we discussed with each other about how we will use this information in implementation of our
Creditors Relief is assisting Earth First Recycling with their financial situation. It has come to the attention of Randy Tigar and Earth First Recycling that Pearl Beta Funding, LLC, represented by MCA Servicing and Steven Berkovitch, Esq., sent a UCC Lien Notice. As a result, Paychex is withholding funds designated of the payment of taxes. First, if Paychex does not release the funds immediately, it will be deemed a breach of the agreement between Paychex and Earth First Recycling.
Due to the negative effects caused from plastic it will always play a role in our environment. One hundred different chemicals have been created after the 1950s to the current day. Something people do not realize is that throwing a plastic wrapper on the ground will end up in a birds stomach, burning plastic in a fire will end up in the air we breathe, and recycling plastic will end up back in our homes. The author states, “I don’t even shop anymore. Anything I need will just float
Once chapters were written, feedback from the critical colleague and Dr. Wilcox helped evaluate errors in logic as well as grammar and mechanical issues that would raise questions to the competency and credibility of the researcher. Having a professional, quality action research project will facilitate the collecting of data from the stakeholders and will give confidence for sharing the results and conclusions. The objectives of the 692 Research Methods and Design Course were met successfully in that they were completely embedded in the coursework. The effectiveness of the course was demonstrated as it was impossible to discuss the learning provided in the course without direct references to the objectives.
Tetra Pak china achieve a huge success after 10 years--- approximately 167,300 tonners of UBCs were recycled in China. The first recycling above is the original recycling chain in China, which is very basic and not very efficiency due to the daily used beverage cartons keep increase, on the other hand, the current recycling chain is more efficiency. Tetra Pak working with many partners to improve the recycling, moreover, Tetra Pak support their partner to increase the recycling capacity and educate the collectors and consumers.
Many times people forget to take trash bags to the beach or simply cannot find an accessible garbage can to dispose of theirs wastes. A quick fix for this situation is to locate plenty of accessible trash cans on the beach that are labeled and classified into plastics, glass, paper and cans, therefore enhancing the importance of recycling. Ecological contamination could be diminished if the problem was in fact treated at the root. Educating children and students at a young age to preserve their only home, will create a conscience among the rising generations. Environment protection classes should be taught as a requisite in school.
There 's a tremendous amount of Americans who are not familiar with the process of any recycled item and this needs to change. Not only is that a huge issue, Americans recycling incorrectly and stores not selling recycled items are two other enormous problems that need to be resolved if Americans want to fix their discombobulated recycling system. After reflecting upon this information, one will agree that

Everyday people buy plastic things from the cafeteria, from plastic containers, lids on cups, and things as small as straws, and like 50% of plastic used it will be thrown away after one use. However, do you ever stop and think, what happens to the plastic? If you’re thinking that it just magically goes away you 're wrong. It will most likely end up in a landfill somewhere or in the ocean, and as you may think that your actions do not impact the world, think again. Everyone in the world has at least used one piece of plastic, adding to the problem of plastic pollution and helping certifying the terrifying statisticc that acooording to the 2018 Earth day video, “by 2050 there will more plastic in the ocean than fish”, which almost is impossible to think of.
That 's 30 percent of the global total. The top countries most responsible for the plastic pollution issue are as following, China, The Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, and Bangladesh. What are we gonna do about it? Switch bag materials or don 't even provide bags just make the people bring their own bags and then they can continue to reuse them and then we won 't have the issue of plastic ending up in the ocean. Innocent animals we haven 't even discovered yet are dying because people can 't walk 10 feet to a trash can.
Look around, and try to find an everyday object that is not made out of plastic. You should find only a few. Plastic takes up more than 75% of our everyday items… And humans are facing the pollution that plastic is causing to the earth. There isn 't a realistic solution to this, because plastic is used in automobile tires, and also is used in electronic devices, silicon etc.
Do you think Alice Thornton’s proposal to decentralize the rules and procedures of Cosmo Plastics will work? Alice proposal of decentralizing the rules and procedures in Cosmo Plastics has a bigger chance of working out in a big company with different departments and great number of employees, because then daily operations and decision-making are divided into different authorities in the organization from the top managements, to the middle and lower level managements. Especially when you have this flexibility in work hours, because some departments in the company need constant attention and discipline from the side of employees, decentralizing is needed to divide the controlling process. On another scale, small groups will be formed, employees
2.0 Procedure A few secondary resources were used in the research process. These sources range from newspapers articles, news website (BBC) and online databases which were accessed via the Internet. These sources were chosen based on direct relation to the topic and its scope. Moreover, these sources were referred to gain better understanding about the topic and explore expert opinions and research done in order to fulfil the criteria of each objective
Resistant on implementing and installation of the new technology might force government to really impose such regulation and that they are always monitored by the regulatory board and also penalties are very serious matter. 3. Plastic manufacturing produces toxic because it composes several chemical that might endanger the living organisms in the water and can be harmful to humans and it is against the law of the Philippines if companies are not responsible with its wastes. III.
Obviously the development of producing plastic went to quick and people did not think of a unified and sustainable way of how to dispose the huge amount of plastic. Unfortunately many countries decided to dispose all the garbage into the ocean but also ship accidents are a reason why so much plastic accumulated in our ocean. Every year more than eight million tons of plastic waste leak into the ocean. A big issue nowadays is that most of the plastic which is produced in one year is used to make disposable items of packaging or other short lived products that are discarded within a year (Philosophical Transactions of The Royal Society, 2009).
Chapter 2 Literature Review 2.1 Waste management in developing countries: The Integrated Sustainable Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Cities and towns in developing countries have for several decades been faced with a challenge of handling and managing solid waste adequately. The main reasons associated with these challenges have been mentioned as rapid urbanisation and growing populations in towns and cities which consequently led to increased generation of waste (Guerrero et al, 2013). The management of this solid waste by municipalities grew as a budget burden for each municipality due to the associated high management costs, lack of understanding of the diverse factors that affect waste management at different stages and the linkages that
