1. Plato- Distance
Plato wrote about how Ancient Greece goes through a new revolutionary form of communication. This new form of communication was the art of writing and reading. Just like today people were obsessed with this new form of socializing and became dependent on it. Socrates and other Greeks became so dependent that they forgot like us how important it was to stop, think and reflect alone about important things. Instead of writing, today’s dramatic technological change is social media. It is changing how we act so we are dependent on or screens where we forget to talk to people or reflect on our life, its acts as a crutch making us not feel safe when

Technology keeps telling us that it is making our lives easier but in reality it is made them just busier with having too much stuff to do. Our society is in need to be strengthened by strengthening our inwardness while embracing the importance of technology. People need to turn into themselves and think about their spirituality. They problem is our need for pointless technology is turning us in the opposite direction, making it almost impossible to have any time to think inward. People need to tune out the social media and look into themselves to see if they are really happy. Even though technology is very important for our society we need time just with you away from all of the technology to just reflect on our lives and …show more content…
This applies to the use of technology because people should have different zones for all of these appliances like a T.V. room or a computer room. This separates the different types of technology making you enjoy each one at different times so you can enjoy all of it instead of using your phone for half of the movie and watching the other half making you unable to receive a full experience of each. People should also not socialize and text at the same time because you can't focus on both at the same time which blocks out the person trying to talk to you.

We need to take time and cool ourselves down and escape from our busy life. Each individual way we escape does not have to be huge it just has to be a step in the right direction. Some examples of taking a small step in the right direction is not watching T.V. while you cook dinner and eat at the table with your family instead to watching T.V. and eating. People need time to relax and hangout with there family instead of being glued to their phones. Improve your lives by having family hikes or activities where you cannot use your phone so you might have time to relax and talk to your friends and family.
The main idea of this essay that is presented by Nicholas Carr is that humanity may progressively become simple minded. Carr states how the internet has damaging consequences on the human mind and how his own remembrance is being affected by ‘internet jumping’ from one site to another. In this essay, Carr believes that our unnecessary use of the internet is not letting people to reflect and read like they used to before the impact and convenience of technology. The author also talks about our reading and writing ability and how issues are rising due to the dependence of technology. Carr gives
People in their society and even now for that matter have become so addicted to technology and to the chase that they don’t pay that much attention to what’s going on around them. This has become a major problem such as people have turned into nontalking people that don’t associate with people who don’t care or think and that don’t voice their own opinion or perspective on things. An example of technology as a distraction is we don’t understand each other as we think we do and part of that we have all these distractions. Such as, emailing, texting, or talking online. We all get easily distracted and misunderstand what others may be saying.
Now in days, people especially children or teenagers do not read book much as they used to be and should be. Due to lack of reading, most of children became weak and unknowledgeable against society because lack of reading decreases vocabulary knowledge and weak writing skill. Children now a day uses internet and social media as reliable sources, but they will never learn to think and question themselves. Children will never build a strength to problem solve their own and engage creativity thinking if everyone only and acquire information from internet. Increase use of internet or social media caused us human being to have an entertainment, care, security, and convenience, but at same time they took our ability to be independent.
We do not have waste time on a lot of reading. We can directly chat with friends in different regions on social media instead of using few weeks to mail a letter. People have gotten used to living with technology every day. From ordering food, shopping, searching for information and texting people online… All of these activities have proven that people depend
Concludingly, the key to life is happiness, and this can be hard at times when things like technology surrounds
We need to put ourselves out there more to make new things in life. Like building new places for people less fortunate. Make new invention like a robot that does stuff for people that is in need of a nurse or someone to watch them, because they cant do things like others can. People need to get more activity. Invent things that help other people.
Technology really does get in the way of our lives, even Steven Spielberg says so himself, "Technology can be our best friend, and technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we're too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone."
In fact, people are still able to bond using technology, it can help people to keep in touch, and it can be used to help people cherish what is important to them. As long as humans do not abuse it, electronics can simply be used as a new way to interact with one another. Unlike the outcomes of “The Veldt” and “The Pedestrian”, technology does not have to consume or ruin lives. People should encourage one another to use the modern items at their disposal without uninformed cynics claiming that they are living life
Too much screen use induces less communication between people and more time spent using technology. Technology used in our society in the same way. Sometimes people use television to forget about a hard time at work, others using phones in public, so they don’t have to interact with other people. “Little by little, technology has become an integral part of the way that people communicate with one another and has increasingly taken the place of face-to-face communication. Due to the rapid expansion of technology, many individuals fear that people may be too immersed in this digital world and not present enough in the real world,”.
Due to increasing over-dependence on technology, many people struggle with being better social beings. This dependence has caused a greater prevalence of loneliness and alienation. Webster’s Dictionary defines society as, “an enduring and cooperating social group whose members have developed, organized patterns of relationships through interaction with one another and technology defined as, “a manner of accomplishing a task especially using technical processes, methods, or knowledge”. Technology helps shape our society in both positive and negative outcomes.
Also, technology helps and brings people more like a community. Above all, peoples’ extent of well-being will not be satisfied at the peak without the involvement of technology. For instance, people are individual units. Today, lots of things like “Fox mail,” “e-business,” “iCloud,” are used personally on the internet.
Over time technology will take complete control over society. Technology is slowly starting to control society and everyone in it. “We’re simply at work in another location with more free time. We’re checking our email and waiting for that important message to come in when reading a book or sitting
Ancient forms of human communication include cave drawings, smoke signals, symbols, and carrier pigeons. During the late 1800’s, communication became more advanced with the invention of the typewriter and the telephone. Roughly one hundred years later, a military project resulted in what we know today as the internet. With a little innovation, the internet made social interactions between people easier than ever, although, the convenience may come at a cost. Some theories suggest that heavy reliance on social media for human interaction will weaken communication skills, hinder meaningful social interactions, and negatively impact personal relationships.
According to Lindsey Craig in her article “Technology -- we all love it and we all use it, but how is it affecting us?” she stated that “Technology is making us more alone, because instead of interacting with our friends in person, we are dependent on using our phones or tablets. We start to compare
This logically leads to debates of human countryside, the success of knowledge, the distinction between presence and realism, the components of an real education, and the basics of principles. The republic is a Socratic discussion, inscribed by Plato around 380 BC. It is a 4 volume book. Plato 's advanced philosophical opinions appears in The Republic.
