This term paper will present the Plato’s Allegory of the Cave upon his own Philosophical assumption: the real world outside of our sense perception and use it as a guide in examining the situation of the Filipino people under the different colonialism (Spanish, American and Japanese) period and the contemporary system of education in the Philippines, the author will attempt to enlighten the mind of Filipinos toward the real meaning of freedom and education.

Now that we are free to learn new things even though our new system of education (Kto12Curriculum) is influenced by other country. We should be thankful because we have the chance to learn. By the way what is the K to 12 Program? The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship. The Government provides us education that will make us fully equipped and knowledgeable. There might have different problems like lack of rooms, lack of school teachers or professors, lack of facilities, lack of money for tuition fee and other school expenses and other problems concerning about the new system of education. Nevertheless, we still choose to fight learn new things despite of many challenges that we’re facing, there are many Filipinos that still fight even though it’s really hard for them because of the poverty and hunger. But what’s important is that we still choose to fight, like the people in the cave that suffered from pain to learn new things this only means that education is never easy you want to learn then fight for it. Like what Aristotle said “The roots of education are bitter but the fruit is sweet” nobody learn easily you need to act, you need to believe on yourself, and most of all you need to
