Because of dangerous people in the united states pose a threat and they may have a weapon like a gun or a knife. So with the guns the police officers have they may scare the suspect into surrendering or shoot them if they fight, either killing or injuring justice will be serve. Most people want to get rid of police holding guns because they are scared of police officers turning bad or using brutal force. “Most of the 422 police shootings examined by an internal police review board from 1993 to early 1998 were ruled to be justified, and only two cases resulted in criminal charges against police officers.” (Gerdes).

Today in the United States, police officers are held to the highest regards when it comes to serving the community; however, the policies for Unlawful Force as it refers to excessive or deadly force used by an officer needs to be changed; more too often, the media is reporting that police officers have shot and killed an unarmed suspect, subsequently, the penalty for many officers have resulted in a not guilty verdict. There is a massive outpour from communities across every state, demanding the revamping of unlawful force polices, that would hold police officers accountable for their actions if found guilty of murder, their crimes should hold no lesser penalty than other citizens within the United Sates. Whenever officers feel endangered, they automatically turn to their weapons. Recently, guns have been a major problem because officers feel that it is the only way they are able to defend themselves. Many times fear takes over an individual and therefore, he/she feels forced to do what an officer requests them to do when in reality they have the right to deny them. When people get pulled over or have a police officer knocking on their door makes individuals feel unlawful.

Cops around the United States have been accused of racially profiling black people. This topic has been brought up by everyone around the U.S. and is very controversial. Studies have shown that the majority of deaths by police officers have been people of opposite color in America. Police brutality in America is a growing epidemic that has shown no signs of slowing down. Innocent men, women, and even children have been killed by police officers for no reason.

Most of the time when the police fire their guns, it’s because the suspects have ran away. This proves that this is mostly about police hostility. Police brutality and racial profiling against has became a huge problem in America. In 2016 more than 250 african americans were killed by police officers. Two thousand and fifteen an estimate of 306 blacks were killed. Mainly our african american men have been killed innocently by an officer because the color of his skin.

There is nothing more credible than having a video as evidence in a court. Many police officers that have been charged with police brutality in the past have either just been laid off of work for some time. Police officers need to be fired from their job just like anyone else would be fired if done the wrong thing. The thing that people don 't understand is that, yes gun owners want to take advantage of this open carry law, but most people that have their license will still conceal their weapons as they don 't want the attention. Most say that when the heat, calms down on all the law changing that they might be more comfortable with open carrying so it’s more of a usual thing to be around. Now gun carriers know all the risk of having their guns visible. Most of the instructors that teach the classes tell them that showing your gun can possibly make you the first target in a situation. Having an open carry they know that it could backfire on them.
