Introduction
Tropical deforestation has been a running problem in Indonesia and accounts for one-fifth of greenhouse emissions worldwide including the damage of the world’s most diverse ecosystem, Indonesia. The rain forests of Indonesia represent 10% of the world’s remaining tropical forests. With Indonesia being the second largest forest in the world after Brazil. However, studies showed that Indonesia had lost up to 80% of its original forest and continues to lose up to 2,509,051 hectares a year. Though there are many causes for the deforestation in Indonesia, one of the main driving force for this reasons are the politics of Indonesia.

The Executive branch includes the president, vice president and the cabinets which holds responsible for the governance of the state. The legislative branch consists of the people’s Consultative Assembly or MPR (Majelis Permusyawaratan Rakyat). The MPR is a bicameral parliament which divides the legislators into two separate assemblies, the People’s Representative Council (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD). The DPR passes laws makes the annual budget while the DPD deals with bills, laws and religion. The last branch of the Indonesian government structure in the judicial branch which consist of different types of courts.
