California and the Drought What is happening to california valley? It used to be green and rich with agricultures. Now with the lack of rain, it is becoming a dry state. Then there are the problems we are facing.
Hurry hurry conserve the water before it’s runs out! Did you know California is in a drought? Animals and crops all over California are dying because california has been in a drought for four years now. The government is limiting the water uses to farmers.
California's Devastating Drought For the past five years California has been in a severe drought. California’s drought has only gotten worse. Rain has been scarce; lakes have been reduced to puddles; and water consumption is being closely monitored. The drought is a common topic for Californians. While some people listen to their conscience and even have a phobia of wasting water, others are careless and do not think twice before using mass amounts of water.
It’s obvious to see that global warming is becoming more and more of an issue. What we don’t know is how much global warming is going to affect us in the future. Some people believe it’s a major issue while other aren’t quite sure if it would even change anything or cause damage. When you look at the statistics though, it’s easy to realize that something, like using renewable resources, must be done to slow down global warming or stop it all together.
The home to mankind and millions other species is facing the biggest threat ever: global warming, which is one of the most concerning issues in today’s world. Before going any further, it is very important to understand what the term actually means. Global warming is defined as “the gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth 's atmosphere and its oceans” by Wikipedia. It is altering the earth’s climate permanently. Global warming has had drastic effects on the ecosystem and mostly not in a positive way because now it has reached a harmful level.
There is a bright side to the destructive force of coal and it comes in the forms of renewable energy. Looking back at the copious amounts of pollution, scientists work towards developing cleaner, renewable types of energy.
Climate Change Over the past century there has been a significant change in the temperature and climate of the planet. Earth 's summers are hotter and dryer and its winters are much warmer with almost no snowfall or freezes. Most people hear about climate change and global warming and don 't think anything about it, not realizing what real harm it is doing to our environment and the future of our species. Humans as a species need to come together to find out what the main causes are and find a probable and stable solution to this worldwide epidemic.
The poll showed 63% of people in the United States believe in climate change and 72% of them believe there should be funding for renewable energy research (Yale). The Union of Concerned Scientists article “The Hidden Cost of Fossil Fuels” explains how fossil fuels impact our lives by destroying the environment, economy, and human health. The increase of temperature from the trapped greenhouse gases from fossil fuels will cause more extreme weather events within the next century (Fossil). Supporting article summary Prove solution The Union of Concerned Scientists article “Benefits of Renewable Energy Use” explains how renewable energy positively affects the environment, economy, and human health.
But lets carry on,coal mining is a good thing for most. This is because most people need power just to do their job. And without power from coal what would they do? That is the main quistion most wonder about. I think the economy without power would just go crazy, because it would lead to no comunication witch would be
Climate change has been a prevalent topic in our world for some time now and for good reasons. Global temperatures have not only risen twice as fast as fifty years ago, but have risen 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit since the nineteenth century. Some may say that this is a normal occurrence as the past has shown that the earth undergoes cooling and warming periods; but scientists were kind enough to provide a graph of average world temperatures in 2012 that proved otherwise. The chart showed that temperatures have remained relatively constant for several hundreds of years, but they have turned sharply upward during the last hundred becoming what is now known as the hockey stick graph (Central 1). This sharp curve has been carefully analyzed, and as one might have guessed the most logical and proven reasons for it is industrialization and the burning of fossil fuels.
One of the biggest debates in our country as well as other countries is whether global climate change is real or not. Many studies show that it is real and is currently affecting the planet as we speak. Scientists have found that greenhouse gases are the biggest culprit to the many issues that we have going on with our planet. Greenhouse gases are the result of pollution which has now trapped gases, such as carbon dioxide, into our atmosphere. From this effect, greenhouse gases cause dramatic temperature changes, melting of the polar caps/glaciers, and major weather phenomenon all over the world.
There is a resistance to utilizing these alternative energies that need to be resolved. To some, the fight for alternative energy may seem unnecessary, but the switch to alternative energy is essential to the survival of our planet and way of life. Our energy needs come from mainly fossil fuels with alternative energy only being a small percentage of the total energy consumption. These fossil fuels create and give off carbon dioxide and greenhouse gasses. These gasses get trapped in our atmosphere and heat our planet.
Climate Change “According to Patrick Moore “There is no scientific proof that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are the dominant cause of the minor warming of the Earth’s atmosphere over the past 100 years. If there were such a proof it would be written down for all to see. No actual proof, as it is understood in science, exists.” (ProCon.org. (2017, March 1). Climate Change Debate ProCon.org.
Impacts of Climate Change What would it be like if the seawater rose enough to cover Florida and how would it be if there were millions of environmental refugees all over the world? I have experienced the life of a refugee and it is not fun at all. Global warming has changed over many years, causing a lot of harm to the earth. Global warming is the overall warming of the planet based on average temperature over the entire surface.
There is a quote by President Barack Obama saying, “To truly transform our economy, protect our security, and save our planet from the ravages of climate change, we need to ultimately make clean, renewable energy the profitable kind of energy,” (“151 Inspiring Environmental Quotes”). He believes as many due that nonrenewable resources are harmful to all aspects of life. The energy we use now is harmful to our planet, to humans, and to animals. Scientists are taking steps to making the world a better place. They found sources that replenished naturally in a short amount of time and are less destructive in all aspects.
