Pop punk is a subgenre created through the merging of punk rock and pop music.
Typically, the music combines pop-esque melodies, lyrics and themes, with loud guitars, fast tempos, and chord changes. To be able to understand the foundation of pop punk music, one must first understand the history of the two genres from which it submerged.

It helped many other North American bands of the same genre in the following decade to gain success. Warped Tour and Hot Topic only brought further popularity to punk in the US mainstream.
In the mid-2000s along with the record label Fueled By Ramen, platinum albums were released from bands including Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, and Fall Out Boy.
The All-American Rejects released Move Along in 2005, and that inspired three top 15 singles. Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy signed Panic! at the Disco to his record label and the hit single, "I Write Sins, Not Tradgedies" closely followed winning them a 2000 MTV Video Music Award for Video of the Year. Avril Lavigne released her single "Girlfriend" and was called the "pop punk princess" as it peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became the top selling song of 2007 and the most successful pop punk single of the entire decade. The creators of Woodstock could have never expected the number of people and were not prepared whatsoever. It was the peak of the 60s but shortly after it, the hippy movement collapsed. In accordance to the new hippy movement came heavy metal which like several other types of music, started in England. People were tired of the free spirited mindset and wanted to bring society back down to the dirty reality of what was happening in life.
The most recent album they created was American Beauty/American Psycho, and they are in the process of making another one now. Fall Out Boy was one of the reasons Fueled by Ramen, an American record label that was struggling to get onto the music train, skyrocketed years later.
When I listen to music, I always listened to rock, my dad introduced me to rock when I was little to bands like Guns and Roses, Aerosmith, Nirvana, and many more. In middle school I started to listen to punk rock, and that 's how I found Blink-182. Blink-182 might be the punk rock 's version of the Beatles because of the way that they influenced many bands for years to come, every so often a band comes along that influences an entire generation of young musicians and that 's what they did. Blink-182 set a foundation to punk rock that was followed by many bands, they influenced countless teens and bands. There music is different, it 's unique, and it is well respected in the music industry as it has also been very influential to me and many others.

Punks style of music is considered uneducated, raw, and rough because of the vessel in which it is administered. Kids with giant, dyed mohawks, leather jackets with studs, and screaming into a microphone was not the typical way to get your message out to the masses. However, their message of tolerance, police brutality, and corporate scams have all hit the headlines over the last decade which brings into question, is punk music uneducated, or was it considered uneducated because of the way the bands portrayed themselves?
The 1990’s was arguably the greatest decade for the music scene. This decade encountered the rise of the best musical artists and bands of all time. The music from this time was highly thought of because most bands were bringing back the rock and roll sound everyone loved from the late 60’s and 70’s. The band that really brought this sound back for generations to come was Nirvana. The band Nirvana wasn 't just considered to be rock and roll, their music could fall under several off branches of rock and that 's what made them the best.
