St. John Paul II was born under the name Karol Józef Wojtyła in a small town in Poland called Wadowice. St. John Paul II was the first Pontiff from Poland, and the only Pope that had to really experience Hitlers regime. Karol enrolled in Jagiellionian University and studied philology. In 1939 after Nazi invasion they closed the university and Pope John Paul II had to work for a restaurant and a chemical factory to avoid deportation to Germany and be forced to fight for the Nazis. After he lost everyone in his immediate family Karol began to study for priesthood. Karol Józef Wojtyła became a priest all Saints day, November 1st 1946. John Paul was a very spiritual Pope who showed his love to everyone and never looked at two people differently. His faith let him go places where others wouldn’t dare to got to like communist Russia and other soviet states. Pope John Paul had love for everyone in any situation and forgave them no matter what they have done in the past. He showed this by even forgiving the man who tried to kill him by shooting him the first chance he had. St Francis was born in Assisi Italy. They are not completely sure on when St Francis was born but they think he was born between 1181-1182. He was born to Pietro and his wife Pica de Bourlemont. Telesphorus became Pope after St. Peter, he found himself getting into arguments with multiple Roman heretics. This was due to the fact that a small number of these groups had a hard time believing in the story of the Virgin Mother, and if they did believe in it they ended up making claims saying Jesus was just another ordinary man and was not truly the Son of God. This caused St. Telesphorus became quite angry, however he was able to stay civil and accept certain changes other religious leaders made to keep the throne. Pope John Paul II addresses this relationship between suffering and evil in his apostolic letter as follows: Man suffers on account of evil, which is certain lack, limitation or distortion of good. We could say that man suffers because of a good in which he does not share, from which in a certain sense he is cut off, or of which he has deprived himself. Gregory VII revived obedience among all and instituted papal authority. With the papal authority in place, all governments that were Christian were forced into subordination.
