Overpopulation occurs when a population of a species exceeds the carrying capacity of its ecological means. Overpopulation is a function of the number of individuals compared to the relevant resources, such as the water and vital nutrients they need to survive. It can result from an increase in births, a decline in humanity rates, an increase in immigration, or an unsustainable biome and depletion of resources. The population is one of the critical current environmental problems. Population explosion is straining resources.
Earth Sustainability
According to the Global Footprint Network (2017), data tells us that humans use less than 2% of the Earth to provide the renewable resources we need and absorb our waste. Population is three times

We need to require a new ethic of environmental citizenship on the part of individuals, businesses and governments. There need to be a clear meaning of the consequences, tradeoffs, and opportunities with the action that influence the trajectory of our planet. Are we indulging too much in our resources or just simply wasting them? Everything that we do has a repercussion if not managed correctly. We need to be more responsible of the usage and protection of the environment through conservation and sustainable practices in sustain and enhance Earth’s life-support systems. This in turn requires effective communication of issues, opportunities and improved alignment of incentives with those public customs that foster sustainable human behavior. There are laws to protect the environment, which is a positive gesture. However, everyone does not follow that law. Today, like in the pass, many humans grown their own vegetables and raise their meat sources and depend very little on the economy for food. Some other things that could be done is being self-conscience of the amount of resources that are being …show more content…
Doing nothing and allowing overpopulation and overconsumption to take over will mount to billions of humans suffering and the future generations will be affective by the end results. Reducing birth rates now will possibly prevent the increase in death rates. Acting now on the overpopulation is essential in establishing a sustainable future, until sound science discovers a better solution to prove more or sustain the non-reusable resources that we have. God gave mankind dominion over the earth but not in order to use or misuse it at any cost for any
Growing populations is decreasing our live stock, our climate, our ozone and depleting our planet of natural resources. Lack of proper management as more and more people are born into our planet unaware of the growing and the lengthening of the populations inability to care for the planet. It would be in our bet effort to involve a series of punishments to those that harm our ecosystem. Those that hurt mother nature may be entitled to a large fine or a serious amount of harm to represent our planets harm. Lots of important people will be into this proposal of more awareness of our planet.
(OI) As the population grows faster and faster, the earth cannot keep up. The impact of population growth on society can present itself in several ways. The maximized demands on resources led to conflict and scarcity. The increased demand for housing, food, and other goods led to price increases and economic problems.
This paper has great ethos, it gives an example of what is to come if we do not care for our environment and people. The paper states, “Once the battle is lost...man can not wonder at nature; his spirit will wither and his sustenance be wasted” (Lyndon B. Johnson).
I grew up in a city called Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Population was approximately 200,000 which is considered the largest city in South Dakota. It was relatively small for me, because I do consider myself a city girl. Growing up in Sioux Falls was rough, the four season weather was always bipolar and you never knew what to expect from it. The city itself is urban, with many tall buildings downtown.
Once the environment is perceived as an equal part of an individual’s community, the human ethical spirit will respect the environment, cherish its benefits and beauty, and be obligated to preserve it. If future generations are taught to create harmony between the three pillars of society: economic, social, and environmental, further damage to the environment can be
Because humanity will run out of resources, there will be economic issues, and there will be serious contamination to the environment. Population control needs to be implemented into countries by governments. The first reason the world needs
Thankfully, there can be a few things done to ease overpopulation. Mainly, the public needs to be made more aware of the overpopulation problem that the world is facing. Beyond that, contraceptives and birth control could be made more available. Finally, the government could create incentives or laws to manage birth rates and populations. If these things happen, the world will surely benefit from a smaller population.
Overpopulation Overpopulation is a condition that is undesirable. Overpopulation is one of the problems that people concern it to. One of the serious countries facing this problem is China. Reports in China show that it has about 1.4 billion people in this country; it takes about one over seven people of the world population. China is the third largest land after Russia and Canada in the world.
In recent years, the topic of saving the Earth from Humans has shown itself in many conversations amongst the people of the public. Saving the World will be an issue we must solve in the near future because we are causing a mass extinction for animals, and we are harming and killing humans, but we can resolve it by using technology to reduce global warming and setting aside reserves. The most important thing humans must do in regards to this topic is begin to educate themselves and others on how drastic we must be in regards to it. The first major issue that must be made clear is the great peril animals are in, and what this means for the planet and humans.
Over population often puts pressure on a country to produce more. This leads to poor farming practices, overgrazing and monoculture. The constant land degradation and low rainfall causes desertification in arid and semi-arid areas. The desertification results in unproductive farmland which increases the pressure to produce food even more.
Introduction Overpopulation is the excessive population of an area to the point of overcrowding and it is an undesirable condition in every country where the number of existing human population rises to an extent exceeding the carrying capacity of ecological setting. Overpopulation can be result from an increase in births, an increase in immigration, a decline in mortality rates and other factors that may cause overpopulated environment. Therefore, this can cause influence as lack of the available essential materials for survival like water, shelter, social amenities and other because of the numbers of people might be more than the materials for survival. In such condition, this regularly contributes to environmental deterioration, worsening
Although the exponential growth model is the basis of this model, population ecologists have developed this to model the reality of limited resources. This model illustrates how a population may increase exponentially until it reaches the carrying capacity (the number of individuals of a particular species than an environment can support) of its environment. The logistic growth model looks like this when it is illustrated
We have grown to see our parents have children, build houses, buy cars cultivate farmlands, explore timber and many other aspects. I think that this is the time to ask ourselves the question how good or bad are our actions to the environment? We should not inherit the habits of our forefathers because we are now responsible for the consequences of our action base on consequential ethics which states that it is common for us to determine our moral responsibility by weighing the consequences of our actions. According to consequentialism, correct moral conduct is determined solely by a cost-benefit analysis of an action's consequences. And in this case, if we apply sustainable development and consequential ethics, I am sure that we will protect our environment looking at it as a social
Introduction: Our earth is the most precious gift of the universe. It is the sustenance of ‘nature’ that is the key to the development of the future of mankind. It is the duty and responsibility of each one of us to protect nature. It is here that the understanding of the ‘environment’ comes into the picture. The degradation of our environment is linked with the development process and the ignorance of people about retaining the ecological balance.
According to www.conserve-energy-future.com, the first factor causing environmental degradation is overpopulation. Rinkesh, World’s Top Eco-Conscious Bloggers and website owner, stated that overpopulation leads to excessive consumption of goods and necessities which impacts natural resources. This is because more people demand more food, clothes, shelter and fuel. Because of this demand, their living space needs to be expanded in order to grow food and provide homes for people.
