From the previous units, we have learned that globalization both brings positive and negative consequences to the world. Despite the global efforts to promote the protection of human rights and the environment to achieve sustainable development such as “the establishment of an international framework that facilitates economic sharing to create an equal world” (http://www.sharing.org/why-nations-need-to-share/global-poverty-inequality), we could not deny the fact that there is a huge disparity of living standard across the world. Unequal income and welfare distribution are still pervasive in both developed and developing nation.

This has been used by this government to avail the IMF Loan grant. The aftermath of this is an eye opener to every citizen the emphasis for the promotion of democracy. While the Philippines have directed its effort for an open and free economy between 1980 and 2000, and employ cost-cutting measure in government spending, as part of the structural condition, resulting in an increase in poverty and inequality.

At present, the government budget along with the many foreign aides, I believe is adequate enough to improve the country’s economy.
