Being homeschooled can impact a child’s childhood. It can cause negative and positive impacts. It can restrain the child from social skills that they may have gained from their experiences from elementary, and so on. Homeschooling can also allow the students to go at his or her own pace. In this case, Nick was a boy who was homeschooled. He loves to play the piano, he was perfectly fine. It was only Catherine Smith (his mother), and him. Then his mother had fallen for a man with a well respected stand in life. He was a Project Manager who loved being social. He had brought up this whole ideal to Nick’s mother who had agreed. So they decided that for his next year of schooling, he would be going to a public high school. Although it may be a little too late for him to gain a ton of social skills, he might be able to at least figure out how to socialize with other humans. His parents only had three weeks to register Nick into the public school system. Nick had woke up at 5:30 AM like usual, and had taken a shower and gotten ready for school. As he was walking down his stairs, a faint voice had said “good luck.” His mother had been standing at the bottom of the stairs waiting to send him off to his first day of school. His Stepfather was busy like always. Nick slowly walked out of his house with a stomach full of toast and eggs.
“I’m not ready for this, but I guess I’ll try it anyways.” Nick quietly whimpered as he was walking to the bus. The long walk to the bus took about eight minutes. The sidewalk looked new, and gray.
