A power animal, also known as a spirit animal, is a protector guiding who helps or protects individuals. My power animal is an otter. The characteristics to the otter are playful, friendly, dynamic, joyful, helpful, and sharing. Some characteristics match me more than others. When I think of an otter I think of a playful and energetic animal. I am very sarcastic and I joke around. I like making myself and others laugh, just makes me feel better knowing I made someone laugh. You will always see me and those around me laughing. At lunch I sit with my closest friends and there is not a day that we are not laughing so hard we cannot breath. We could be laughing over the most bizarre things that other people may not find funny, but it sure makes us laugh like nobody 's around. …show more content…
I do consider myself friendly, but if people get on my bad side I will not be friendly to that person. I won’t be rude or act harshly, but I will keep my words to myself and be silent, not talking to that person. I can also easily make friends, I am a very social person and can get alone with most people. There are times where I do not get along with people. But like the old saying “treat others the way you want to be treated.” Therefore, if you treat others kindly and with respect, most likely they will treat you the same as you treat them. Everyone has a power animal, they define who you are and every power animal is different and unique. The otter’s defines me because the characteristics to the otter are the characteristics that make me who I

A keystone species are an extremely important factor for keeping diversity in an ecosystem. When lost they can have detrimental effect on the ecosystem they are inhabiting. These include and diversity decrease and the ecosystem 's structure is significantly structured(Campbell). It has a strong control over the community due to its ecological role or niche(Reece). One of the main keystone species that is regenerating is the grey wolf or the Canis lupus.
In “The Lowest Animal”, Mark Twain explains man’s morals and ethics as they compare to the “higher” animals, while in the poem “Ethics” by Linda Pastan, a simple situation is given to show what a person believes is right and wrong; both works reveal the theme hope. Mark Twain takes an interesting approach to explain human nature in his work, “The Lowest Animal”. For example,“[h]e is the only one that inflicts pain for the pleasure of doing it” (Twain 538). People understand that hurting another human being is wrong, whether that be physical or mental abuse. However they sometimes do it anyways for the satisfaction that the action provides.
The gray wolf 's expressive behavior is more complex than that of the coyote and golden jackal, as necessitated by its group living and hunting habits. While less gregarious canids generally possess simple repertoires of visual signals, wolves have more varied signals which subtly inter grade in intensity.[12][13] When neutral, the legs are not stiffened, the tail hangs down loosely, the face is smooth, the lips untensed, and the ears point in no particular direction.[135] Postural communication in wolves consists of a variety of facial expressions, tail positions and piloerection.[120] Aggressive, or self-assertive wolves are characterized by their slow and deliberate movements, high body posture and raised hackles, while submissive ones carry their bodies low, sleeken their fur and lower their ears and tail.[136] When a breeding male encounters a subordinate family member, it may stare at it, standing erect and still with the tails horizontal to its spine.[137] Two forms of submissive behavior are recognized: passive and active. Passive submission usually occurs as a reaction to the approach of a dominant animal, and consists of the submissive wolf lying partly on its back and allowing the dominant wolf to sniff its anogenital area.
I could care less about friends material wise. As long as I am able to put a smile on their face and on mine, I will enjoy life. According to the personality tests on monster.com, I am a commander or leader. It tells me that I am more extroverted and introverted, but not by much.
Humor is the ingredient that keeps it all moving, holds the bigger picture, inspires and brings a sense of gratitude for life. Aspiring to these qualities illuminates the lack of them at times. When I hit this kind of wall or low, I turn to the smile and humor to elevate my

A puppy mill is “an establishment that breeds puppies for sale, typically on an intensive basis and in conditions regarded as inhumane.” There are thousands of puppy mills in the United States, some of which are not recorded. There are many issues regarding puppy mills, from the way they treat the animals and the upkeep of their environment. Many of the puppy mills are not regulated and not licensed to own a puppy mill.
Unlike modern people’s view, animals were highly revered and regarded as sacred creatures in most Native American civilizations in the past. The Iroquois, like most Native American peoples, emphasize the importance of living in harmony with the natural world through the creation myth "The World on a Turtle 's Back" which expresses the relations toward all living things. However, in modern society, people take both the world and the animals for granted and start to neglect the importance of harmony in nature. Many examples of harmony in nature were presented in the myth "The World on a Turtle 's Back" such as animals’ assistance toward humans, equilibrium of the animal kingdom, and well-managed daytime and nighttime.
High school football in Massillon , Ohio is an eagerly anticipated season. Part of what the locals look forward to is Obie, a live tiger cub http://www.care2.com/causes/investigation-exposes-extreme-tiger-cub-abuse-and-neglect-at-roadside-zoos.html who is leased to Massillon Washington High School. But Obie might not make his decades-long traditional appearance as mascot this season. In order to achieve self-respect, a person must also achieve the respect of every other human being. Every other human being has within them the same two wolves. Each decision may tip the scales in the life of another, so a person’s life carries worth, even if one does not
Animals in Research and Testing According to PETA, the animals who are in research and testing “shake and cower in fear whenever someone walks past their cages and their blood pressure spikes drastically. After enduring lives of pain, loneliness and terror, almost all of them will be killed,” (“Animal Testing 101”). Animal-testing is the use of non-human animals in research and development projects, especially for purposes of determining the safety of substances, such as foods, beauty products, and/or drugs. Although animal research plays a crucial role in experiments focused on disease treatments and preventions, it is cruel, inhumane, and should be stopped. This is an act that should be banned and prohibited in all states and countries
I guess it is God?s way of keeping me cheery in living alone. Like the bible says, God works in mysterious ways and he definitely has a sense of humor. Overall, I do not mine because it keeps me young and vibrant. People think I do not have a care in the world. -Describe yourself as others see
The understanding of evolution that I now have is a lot clearer in several ways. The examples used in the videos were good at explaining how natural selection is capable of choosing what traits are significant, and as a result those organisms reproduce making the trait the majority. For example the peppered moth was an excellent way to explain natural selection. The white peppered moth had a high fitness level due to the very bright environment it inhabited. The bright environment made it hard for predators to prey on the white peppered moths.
