Whereas Pretty little liars be placed in a little town called rosewood that’s filled with mysteries, Friends is set in a very out in the open big city named New York. So as viewers we can see that the settings of these shows are very different. The settings give a sense of how the characters act in each show. In PLL the characters give a sense of always being under stress and uptight with one another. Friends characters gives the sense of love and portray a sense of normal everyday obstacles that they deal with together. Pretty Little Liars shows viewers the importance of a small town, and what it can be held within it. This group of girls are best friends who have been through a lot together. The characters have matured together through high school, and continue to solve issues together in their adult life. The characters are put to the test while always having to be questioned by police or being harassed by different anonymous people. The characters are portrayed as fearless and willing to solve anything that is thrown at them. They live through what the normal person wouldn’t usually have to deal with in a lifetime. There is never a dull moment between the characters. They use plot lines that involve humor and everyday problems. The characters are all different, but there are romantic relationships that get built. We see the wise one who helps everyone. Then we have the funny one who is so strange but keeps the group going. Can’t forget the ladies’ man, and the one opposite of that we have the sweet one who is extremely caring. Lastly, we have the brother of the wise lady who puts the cherry on top of the group of friends. So, we can see here that we have multiple personalities of six adults who just go through day by day life with one another. Unlike PLL who has five girls who all want the same thing, and have the same problems going
