Humans can survive without food for a number of weeks. On the other hand we can’t survive without water for less than a week. Water is one of the most important and reliable resources on Earth. Not only do we humans rely on it, but marine life as well even fish in lakes and rivers. Most people don’t understand how one piece of trash can affect an immeasurable amount of marine life and fish in lakes or rivers. There is a miscellaneous flock of ways to prevent Water Pollution. It may be from, not pouring grease down your sink to properly disposing oils and other harmful things in a good manner. People need to be more savvy about keeping our bodies of water clean, because water pollution can be stopped.

Only 3% of all water is fresh and drinkable and of the 3%, 75% is frozen, which leaves a grand total of only 1% of the Earth’s surface water that is readily available for consumption. Intaking poorly treated water can have multiple side effects such as, diarrhea, cholera, stomach infection, and typhoid. Dirty water is a fantastic breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests that could carry barbaric diseases. Mosquito bites skeptically affect human health and can cause diseases such as malaria, filariasis, dengue and chikungunya. More common effects on the human with unfiltered and clean water could be stomach or liver illness, respiratory problems even neurological effects. A person 's body is most likely to react right away to untreated water.

Waste is considered toxic if it is poisonous, radioactive, explosive, carcinogenic, (causing cancer), mutagenic (causing damage to chromosomes), teratogenic (causing birth defects), or last but not least, bioaccumulative (that is, increasing in concentration at the higher ends of the food chains.) Poisoning occurs when toxic waste is ingested, inhaled, or absorbed by skin. Toxic waste is a big issue from big companies. Already two-thirds of the aquatic life s considered to be an endangered species because of improperly disposed chemicals and waste. Our aquatic life lives in the waters we contaminant with improper choice of disposal of toxic waste from big companies and industries.
