With only one desire: to eat. I no longer thought of my father, or my mother… I would dream. But only about soup, an extra ration of soup” (Wiesel 113). Gregor’s parents become increasingly indifferent to him because of the change of him. “Earlier, when the door had been barred, they had all wanted to come in to him; now, when he had opened one door and when the others had obviously been opened during the day, no one came any more, and the keys were stuck in the locks on the outside” (Kafka 18).
The entire household had a huge debate over food. Bernard and Demi, my roommate from Nigeria, said that American food had no color. They told us that our food taste like it was flavored with water. They ate stuff like pounded yam, which looks exactly like mash potatoes, and jollof rice. When ever Bernard would cook chicken he would use every seasoning in the cabante, and Demi couldn’t cook so he relied on ubereats heavily.
I think It wasn’t in telling freshmen year in high school when my sister and I went to go to Subway to get something to eat. I usually get a sub with meat and no vegetables. But my sister said “you better but some vegetable on your sandwich or I won’t get you food anymore.” At first I was critical, but I said “I need to break out of my shell, so what the heck.” I said “I would like… well some lettuce.” My sister said “more!” I said “fine! Can I also get cucumbers, red onions, and some banana peppers, you happy!” and when we got home, I was so scared of eating the sandwich I ordered, my sister really wanted to see my reaction. I was like here we go!
Abigail replied: Yes. Should we pay more taxes for people in the military? Elisa replied: yes, celebrities already got too much money, why would they need more. It sucks that they get paid so lowly even though they risk their lives to protect their country. How much money do you think celebrities and people in the military should get paid?
“Fast food is popular because it’s convenient, it’s cheap, and it tastes good. But the real cost of eating fast food never appears on the menu.” When the idea of fast food was first created, it was met with mixed reactions. White Castle and A&W--the first two fast food restaurants ever created--worked very hard to create a service that could provide meals quickly to the people around them. Customers, at first, refused to eat hamburgers because of their tarnished image influenced by Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle. White Castle began to change this negative image of hamburgers by preparing all meat in front of a window that customers could see through.
Watch with the stuffing! Believe me when I say the people who come to this dump don’t eat a lot of lettuce! DIANNA I’m just making what he ordered. TACO Well, he’s american, he has no idea what he wants! DIANNA That’s not okay, would you let me do my job please?
Imagine waking up in the morning, and your mom makes you and a friend breakfast. There’s eggs, waffles, hashbrowns and bacon, but instead of eating the bacon, your friend throws it in the trash and looks at it in disgust. Culturally, your friend would see no fault in his actions but you would probably look at him very confused and ask him why the heck he would throw away perfectly delicious bacon! This is probably because your friend is probably Islamic and does not eat pork. Culture largely impacts the way people see others and the world because of their perspective on things based on the way they were raised up.
Movies even have more effect than we realize as well . We watch movies all the time about crimes , which plants a seed of fear for people. Society will start to believe that serial killers live among them and that no place is safe.We start to think about how this can happen to us or even our family. Most people have a belief in what is good and evil. When it comes to good , we categorize it has innocent holy , pure.

There were usually no restrooms for the workers, so a corner or the floor were utilized as substitutes. The rooms were dark and musty, from a lack of windows. The machines had sharp parts made for crushing meat, which caused fingers and other body parts of workers to be severed and grinded into the meat. Rat infestations lead to rat droppings, rat poison, and rat corpses finding their way into the meat as well. Many of these factors caused food poisoning to reach its highest peak in United States history in the early 1900s.
