In movie making processes, the producers tend to add some romantic, fantasy details in order to attract the audience, which plays an important role in the successfulness of the films. Therefore, films and movies usually do not describe exactly the truths. Similarly, films with historical contexts never portray the historical truth without adding some “catchpenny” details, which often make people misunderstand the history. In order to attract the audiences and to be one of the high- grossing movies, “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” also only has very few truly historical accuracies, which are expressed through the context, the characters, and the folklores. “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” is a fantasy adventure film premiered in 2010 based on the 2003 video game of the same name, developed and released by Ubisoft Montreal. Although it is called a “fantasy” film, it still has few historical truths, and analyzing the film can give people the knowledge about Persian inhabitants in ancient time. The movie is put in a large scenario which is the ancient Persia. In the history of Persia, since 559 BCE, Kings of Persia had continually conquered Anatolia, Lydia, Babylon, Indus Valley, Egypt, even Greece. Nizam is a typical villain in the American’s concept: wicked, crafty, evil. He is so ambitious and merciless that he assassinates his own brother, calumniates and plans to kill his own nephew.
