Abstract
All living beings need food to live. It’s a means of good life, health and wellness. Inappropriate food will cause diseases and at the same time, food is the first medication against diseases. Just like anything in the universe, food is made of five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Balanced diet should contain all the five elements. Five Great Elements
According to Sowa Rigpa, anything in this universe, including the body, comprises five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. In medicinal herbs and food, the Great Elements represent taste, potency, post-digestive effect and qualities. In the body, the Great Elements are represented in the forms of humors, tissues and waste.
Earth gives the foundation, Water keeps it wet, Fire provides heat, Wind lets it move and grow and the Space gives the space to grow. In a healthy body these Elements are in a state of balance. Owing to many internal and external variant factors such as negligent lifestyle choices, how the body is maintained, age, environment, season, psychological state etc., the inherent ratio of the Elements become imbalanced. The body’s natural tendency is to maintain equilibrium and it does so by eliminating any excess Elements and trying to acquire those that are depleted. The shortage of Elements is usually replenished through diet and behavior like exercise and exposure to heat and

Potassium is present in many food sources, and the typical person has high stores within the body. In activity and sweat, potassium losses are not as high as sodium. Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. Calcium has many roles both in normal body functions and athletic performance. When circulating in the bloodstream, it has a major impact on the metabolism of essential nutrients, and proper physiological functions.

You’re walking through an underground pass, and you notice something strange. You happen to be near Gloucester, UK, and you see a large mural while walking around with your coffee in your hand. It happens to be a work of Chiho Aoshima, a rising artist of the Japanese Contemporary movement. You stand a few minutes, letting the busy crowd wash over you like busy fish over a stationary pebble in a stream. Your coffee is cold now, but you feel warmed by the vibrant colors of the mural.

Metabolism is the process in which nutrients are broken down within the body to create energy. This occurs through a series of chemical reactions, which, when disrupted, can be called a metabolic disorder. This occurs when the presence of a substance is missing or it is in a high quantity. These types of disorders occur when an organ is diseased, but can also be the result of genetics, like Wilson’s disease. Wilson’s disease is an autosomal recessive disorder in which there is a copper build-up in the body, and can be fatal unless diagnosed and treated early.

According to Northoff (2007), nutrition is critical for a healthy and active life, but many people around the world still have no access to sufficient and nutritious food because of poverty and lack of nutrition education. Moreover, Riddle (2005) stresses that nutrition education is a key for developing the skills and motivation needed to eat well, and is especially important in situations where families have limited resources. The benefits of nutrition education and counselling can directly influence nutritional status, consequently, helping in attaining the millennium development goal (MDG) to reduce the prevalence of hunger and malnutrition (Garcia, 2008). In a recent preliminary study conducted by ENDESA in 2007, the way in which the mother’s educational level influenced malnutrition was observed. Statistics reveal that 15.4 percent of children of mothers with no education suffered from chronic malnutrition, while 9.4 percent and 4.7 percent in children of mothers with secondary or higher education levels respectively (Acevedo & Menendez, 2006).
