Woken up by the sound of a fluctuation coming from my cell phone. My eyes haltingly peeled open, as I was trying to find the strenuous energy to wake myself up. The phone rang again, as my eyes began to stare at the luminous green light coming from the alarm clock beside me. The clock reads 2am, knowing it was never a satisfying sign to receive a phone call this early in the morning. However, I finally found the stamina to answer my phone, but as my finger pressed the answer button I hear a voice from the other line chime in, before I could even say “hello”. The voice was stern and heavy specifying that he was from the U.S government named Rucker and needed an operative agent to track down the three missing pie’s, each located in different countries. As I gaze out into the backseat window my mind races of all the crisis’s I may encounter, as we pass through miles of cornfields we finally met our target. The car squeaks to a halt as we pull up next to a glimmering grey private jet. My doors opens, Rucker escorted me to the jet evaluating my numerous amounts of task that were ahead of me. The steeps are tall and steep, one foot by one I finaly reach the entrance. The door opens and I am standing there in astonishment. This jet was fitted for a twelve people, with burgundy walls and sheik leather white couches and a cramped silver table in the corner next to the restroom. At this table stood intricate gadgets that will be used for my mission. As I was gazing at these marvelous weapons special agent Rucker pulls up behind me, in a deep voice asking “are you nervous for your mission to capture the missing pies?” I responded with a hesitant no, knowing I was fearful for my life as we began to travel to Berlin. The plane finally took off and we were ascending off from the ground. As we were in the air Rucker went over each gadget specifying each of their different
In “F-16 Pilot Was Ready to Give Her Life on September 11,” penned by Steve Hendrix, he describes the actions taken place after the September 11th attacks, and the bravery and willingness of a female F-16 pilot, who was prepared to give her life, to save the American people. Hendrix begins the essay by clearly illustrating the position of Lieutenant Heather Penney on the morning of September 11th, as “She had her hand on the throttle of an F-16 and… had her orders: Bring down United Airlines Flight 93” (224). Colonel Marc Sasseville and her devising a quick plan, “‘I’m going for the cockpit,’ Sasseville said. She replied without hesitating. ‘I’ll take the tail’” (227).

Imagine if you were being hunted down in your own country by an army who wanted you dead. What would you do?
