Effects of music on behaviors have been widely documented. This report aims to take prior research and apply it on how music affects problem solving behavior (concentration). This study takes previous research a step further and includes the effects of music on accuracy levels, too, along with concentration (where the number of questions answered is tantamount to concentration levels, and the number of correct answers is tantamount to accuracy levels). The study was conducted with consent on students of private university.

INTRODUCTION

Concentration has been defined as "the ability to direct one's thinking in whatever direction one would intend". That is, engross oneself in a task completely, and produce results that show that. Our ability to concentrate depends on certain factors, including:
 Commitment – the personal devotion we have towards the task
 enthusiasm for the task
skill at doing the task
 our emotional and physical state while at the time of performing the task
 our psychological state
 our environment

It was conducted in a gym. The purpose was to check the manipulation of mind based on music. The researchers played music in a gym and observed the moods of the people present there through testing their subjects immediately after their workout. Researchers offered the participants to help out a charity, thus examining the affect that the music had on them. They had two different groups; one who listened to harsh, rock music, and one who were exposed to uplifting music.
