I believe that Professional athletes should be paid those millions of dollars, because they work in an industry that has the money to pay them those high salaries. If it was not for the viewers watching the games and buying the merchandise, sports franchises would not have the money to pay professional athletes as much money as they do. If someone thinks athletes make too much money, maybe they should stop watching the games or buying team products, because they are the one making them their money so there is no need to complain. I also feel that if it was someone else in the position of professional athletes, or their wife, brother, sister, daughter, son, etc, bringing home all that money, they would not be complaining about whether or not they get paid too much. I just feel that there is no need for people to get mad or complain about how much someone is getting paid, because that is how the sports world
Argumentative Paper Athletes are overpaid Have you ever heard about a grown man complaining about how he could not afford his insurance for his 8 cars? Almost all athletes get paid enormous paychecks and are financially unprepared. Athletes are overpaid because they can go bankrupt and some of the athletes become too confident with their money. Most athletes go bankrupt in a short amount of time. While it might be true that these multi-millionaire athletes have endless amounts of money.
So we talk about making sure they understand that concept. Accordingly, professional athletes need to be smart about their money. Former offensive lineman, Jeff Byers said it best when he stated, “You have to live significantly below your means. As a 22-year-old making $400,000, you have to act like you’re a 22-year-old making 60,000” ( “NFL
College athletes put in a lot of time, effort, and work into the sport they’ve played since they were young, but they aren’t getting paid for it. These student athletes deserve to be paid because they put in countless hours of hard work and balance sports with school work. The first reason athletes in college do deserve to be compensated is because they don 't have time to fit in work with a school and athletic schedule. College athletes don’t have time to get a real job. Student athletes have a very busy schedule, they don’t have time to fit in a job.
Have you ever wondered why National Football League players, known as NFL players, make so much money? I think NFL players should continue to earn such high salaries for the reasons that follow; they entertain millions, risk getting life altering injuries, and create loads of revenue. To put the second reason into perspective, getting tackled by a 300 pound defensive lineman is comparable to getting in a car accident at 30 miles per hour without a seat belt on (Wisconsin Trooper Association). That can happen to just one player upwards of 20 times a game. National Football League players, known as NFL players; deserve as much money as they get because of how they entertain people.
After graduating from High School one may choose to further his or her education through college. People do this for many reasons. Some people do it for professional benefits, while others do it for sports athletics. This paper will be focusing on those who do go to college for athletic benefits. Specifically, this is focusing on how these college athletes do not get paid and why they should be paid.
Taking a look at the average college student, should they be paid for what they are studying? Probably not. Then why should college athletes be paid? They shouldn 't get paid just because of their athletic ability. They shouldn 't be paid because they are students, not professionals.
The ones that become professional athletes have worked from a young age and put in thousands of hours practicing which goes along with the old saying “Time Is Money”. These players sacrifice their bodies and spend hours in rehab or taking pain medication because of it. That kind of strenuous activity all the time puts strain on your body and athletes pay for that in the future. Athletes also lose most of their privacy due to the media. Athletes have to do countless numbers of interviews to keep the people happy.
When people hear about if college athletes should get paid they would say no because they think the athletes would get paid millions of dollars. It is not like that, college athletes would not be paid that high they would only need to be paid so they can live a decent life. They have to balance their lives with school and their sports. College athletes should get paid because The NCCA is billion dollar business and the athletes don’t get any money, athletes spend more hours working for the sport than the average American, it helps athletes manage their money.
The million dollar question; should college athletes be paid? This is an immense debate, but if you were to ask me, I would say yes, college athletes should be paid. There are a plethora of reasons why college athletes should get paid. College athletes should get paid because of the amount of time they put into their sport, the amount of money everyone else is making off of them, and their overall importance to the school. There are a myriad of reasons that people can argue the opposite way, but, the reasons they should get paid definitely outweigh the reasons they shouldn’t get paid.
And most of them work hard in practice and play great in the game. Colleges should help their athletes by paying them. College athletes should be paid. Some athletes go to the pros before graduating college. Paying the athletes will make them work harder in practice and in school, because if they work harder in practice they will play harder and maybe get paid more.
People know that doctors and firefighters save lives, while athletes play a game to make money. Even teachers pay isn’t anywhere near to athletes; they educate the generation’s youth so they can make a difference in the future. So many jobs that are very important don’t get paid as much and that money can go towards better causes. But these are only some of the reasons that pro athletes get paid too much.
Athletes - Paid for Their Worth Most people think that athletes are overpaid and see huge contracts come out every year. It’s not everyday that an athlete wakes up to a 20 million dollar contract. In fact, they actually worked for it over many years of training and dedication. Pro athletes are paid exactly what they deserve because they work hard and sacrifice more than most people think. It's not just businesses paying them; people do things like buy merchandise, tickets to the games and support their favorite teams while the athlete does the “dirty” work of performing.
They don’t think that 's enough they think they should get paid for the sport they play as well. Most college athletes would just be happy with a four year career playing a sport and not having to pay for their college education.(3) Some of the athletes think they should get paid for doing something that got them that education. Which I don’t think thats right. Also college athletes get opportunities at receiving both a college education and get the exposure to win a major professional contract.(1)
Athletes are paid more than very important jobs such as surgeons, teachers, and even the president! Athletes don’t even do very important things, they merely entertain fans in an arena. Do they save lives, educate our future, or run our country? No, they don’t. Finally, an athlete's salary is more than an average American household makes in a whole decade.
Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. They only entertain for a living and get paid millions of dollars per season. Each sport is different in how they pay their athletes, and the difference in salaries from one player to another can be in the tens of millions of dollars. These athletes are paid for jobs that they only do for a certain number of games and do not even play the games over the course of an entire year. In most professional sports, they play in games for only a few months and then have a few months off.
