Public relations play a major role in business and government organizations day in and day out. These public relation professionals act as liaisons between there company or government entity and the public interest that surrounds them. Public relations professionals work to obtain free publicity for their client and are regarded as experts in media relations. They're often asked to train employees on how to effectively communicate with the media, particularly during print or TV interviews (Roos, D 2007). With this in mind, it must be assumed that the reputation of the public relations professional must be good. This traditional method of doing business was very effective however it lacked that personal connection element. Stepping into the present day, social media has changed the world forever by allowing people to connect on a more personal level and to maximize influence while expanding its outreach worldwide. The election of Donald J. Trump is perhaps the starkest illustration yet that across the planet, social networks are helping to fundamentally rewire human society. They have subsumed and gutted mainstream media. They have undone traditional political advantages like fund-raising and access to advertising (Manioo, F 2016).
