Having a baby can be very expensive, all the clothes, diapers, milk or formulas. Some girls have babies and are not financially ready. Women who are denied abortions are more likely to become unemployed and depend on public welfare. In the article Poverty during Pregnancy, it claims “Depending on how one defines poverty, between 50,000 and 100,000 children are born into poverty each year in Canada” (Charles Larson). If someone knows they can not support a child financially, they would rather not bring them into this world and watch them suffer.
Children are the one who will shape our country's future, but how can they make a good future if they are not taken care of correctly? The influence of a parent on their child is extremely important, and a child’s development can move quickly, especially when they are young. Sometimes children are born into a bad home, and this can lead to setbacks and delays in a child’s growth. In addition, the government can sometimes get involved and remove children from these bad situations, but a lot of people don’t think that it is right. Some people think that the government is just making the child’s life worse, but this isn’t the case.
Even though some people think immigrant children are trouble makers, these children need help. First of all, children immigrants almost certainly have trouble at home. Also, when old enough children will pay taxes to help our government. If these children come here we can put them in a adoption system where they can receive a family that truly loves them. Over all these children need our help and they can do our government good.
Adoption Difficulties Adopting a child is a controversial issue. Many children go without homes, because the qualifications people have to fit are very high, and somewhat unachievable. However some people say that these standards should be high, because they want the child to go into the best home, but if they are too high, which they are now, people will not be eligible to adopt, because they do not fit the standards. The fact is, adoption should be made easier, so kids can find forever homes. Adopting a child is very difficult. You must fit into certain qualifications to be able to even be accepted by a company.
Either Way, who wants to skip meals some days in order not to go bankrupt. Moreover, this problem has arisen recently as 29% of low-wage workers are single parents who cause more of a dilemma they have to deal with (Buren). Consequently, these single parents having to bring their children to their job and leave them to wonder as they can’t afford to spend money on childcare. Also, the average amount of money you earn on minimum wage is $15,080 which is clearly not enough. An average family that makes $54,622 a year has around $5076 left over at after taxes and all of the expenses for child care, education, food, housing, etc.
Couples and individuals in the U.S when looking to adopt can expect to pay as much as $20,000 to $35,000 for a healthy infant in the U.S. Most couples and individuals though, simply don’t have that kind of money laying around, and not to mention the cost has to be paid up front, there are no governmental loans or payments that people can make. For this reason alone many people are forced to give up the idea of adopting in the U.S because of the extremely high cost of a child. Not only is the price a heavy burden to face, but also the process of adoption can take as long as 1 to 7 years in the U.S. This is an extremely extensive amount of time to go through the process of adopting, expecially when it only takes 6-24 months internationally to adopt a healthy infant or child, and can be cheaper.
While raising a child is a wonderful experience, it also requires a major investment of time and money. Non-custodial parents are required to pay child support so that one parent doesn’t shoulder that cost alone. Getting child support can involve administrative processes, judicial processes, or both. Some cases are quick and straightforward, but others are more complicated especially if paternity or income are disputed. Before you can seek child support, you 'll need to know where the other parent is.
This can be explained by, “Studies of pregnant women in New York City welfare hotels have shown their babies are twice as likely to weigh less than five pounds at birth when compared to all pregnant women. Low birthweight babies are at greater risk of blindness, deafness, brain damage, and even death”(Hyde 56). Taking this into consideration, homeless children’s academic performance is hindered because of their poor cognitive development and the circumstances of their homelessness, including constant mobility. Math, reading, spelling, and vocabulary tests are the tests that homeless children most often struggle to succeed on and likely result in being held back a year in school(Hart-Shegos 3). This can be seen in Dicey’s Song through Maybeth’s character and the difficulty she has to prosper in school.
This line shows us that the mother was the one who is responsible for everything. It also shows that she is having a hard time without a husband. She was doing the father and the mother job in the same time. Education was one of the main reasons that separated Dee from her family. Education make her loss the sense of heritage and the love of her family and also the school made Dee prefer modern life than the one she was
Education empowers every person that receives it. Having a successful life is very difficult for those who are illiterate. “A child born to a literate mother is 50% more likely to survive past age 5.” (CARE). Women lacking an education have a much harder time raising children. Low education rates are a cause of child mortality.
