CHAPTER 3 LITERATURE REVIEW Asmamaw Gebresilassie presents paper on design and analysis of composite drive shaft. Which is also called as a propeller cardan shaft? This is design with an outside and inside diameter, which spin at a frequency operate by engine output. Drive shaft must operate in low and high power transmission of the fluctuating load. Due this fluctuate load it becomes fail and tends to stop power transmission. Thus it is important to make and design this shaft as per load requirement to avoid failure. In his project work an attempt is made to evaluate the suitability of composite material such as E-Poxy, E-Glass for the purpose of automotive propeller shaft application. A one piece composite shaft with the objective of minimizing the weight of the shaft, which is subjected to the constraints such as torque transmission, critical buckling torque and bending natural frequency. Dr K.Rambabu and R.P.Kumar Rompicharla present paper on to design and analysis a composite propeller shaft for power transmission. Substituting composite structures for conventional metallic structures has many advantages because of higher specific strength and stiffness of composite …show more content…
A propeller shaft is not limited to vehicles but also in many transmission applications can be used, in this paper, the aim is to replace a metallic drive shaft by a two-piece composite propeller shaft. Designing of a composite propeller shaft is divided in two main sections: design of couplings. design of the composite shaft In composite shaft design some parameters such as critical speed, adhesive joints static torque are studied; the behavior of materials is considered linear isotropic ,nonlinear isotropic for adhesive, for metal and orthotropic for composite shaft. Along with the design all the analyses are performed using (ANSYS). The results show optimum design of composite drive

Tail Docking Short, stubby tails on dogs are cute, right? Well, looks are deceiving. Schnauzers, Yorkshire Terriers and Boxers are some of the most common breeds to get their tail docked for reasons such as agility, to prevent injuries and for dog shows. Tail docking isn’t as innocuous as it sounds, it is literally cutting a dog's tail with a pair of scissors.
Introduction: Multi-award winning Australian novelist, Tim Winton’s book, ‘The Turning’ published in 2004, provides an insightful and fascinating reading experience. ‘The Turning’ is set around the Second World War over a span of 20 years in Perth, Western Australia. Winton utilises diverse language and literary techniques/devices where he creates a stunning collection of connected short stories about turnings of all kinds. This is developed through setting, character, and theme to effectively engage the targeted audience. Winton establishes theme as a major technique in three relatable short stories, ‘Big World’, ‘Sand’, and ‘Damaging Goods’ as he focuses on the relationship and connection between characters.
Wood produces the heaviest and least expensive paddles. If you’re a new player or you’re not sure of investing in an expensive equipment, you can opt for a wood paddle. I still own a wooden pickleball paddle that I bought over a decade ago, and it’s still in great shape. Composite paddles fall in the medium range paddle category. They are moderately priced and come in a wide range of weights and sizes.
Military bearing is the start in which every soldier practices either as enlisted or commissioned in order to have good discipline and ethics throughout a military career. Army regulations and soldiers should live by the creed that a military service member should conduct themselves on a daily basis, on and off duty . Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage are Army core values. To be a dependable Soldier you must show your NCO’s that you can be an adult with time management, meet deadlines, be in the right place at the right time, in the right uniform, and doing the right thing at the right time. Dependability is a major aspect of military bearing.
Russ Kramer’s painting Far From Home of a small sailboat all alone on the open water can be seen in many different ways, some better than others. In Dorothy Allison ’s essay she talks about people hiding their “secret selves” when they look at paintings and how each person has a certain “version of reality” that makes their “secret selves” (595). I agree with Dorothy Allison that everyone sees things differently based on their own personal “version of reality” that is determined by their past experiences. When you look at this painting your eye is first drawn to the whitecaps throughout the foreground.
Caught by the Sea: My Life on Boats Caught by the Sea: My Life on Boats is about the Gary Paulsen’s life on the sea. In this book he talks about his main voyage. Mr. Paulsen just got out of the army and had nothing to do and nowhere to be. For some reason he wanted to go see the beach so bad that he felt like he was going to die.
The selection of ASTM A706 reinforcement bars were based on the recommendations of ACI 318-11 Code Section 21.1.5.2. The longitudinal mild steel reinforcement bars were extended in the entire column height (i.e., 104 in.). The longitudinal mild steel reinforcement bars
The advanced technology in the home is to blame for the parent’s deaths because the technology was addicting and dangerous. In “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury, George and Lydia decide to buy a house with advanced technology. Their kids, Wendy and Peter play in a virtual reality room called the nursery. One day, the parents notice that the kids were playing with lions in the nursery. They decide that playing with lions can be dangerous and come to the conclusion that they need a break from the technology.
We live in a world obsessed with a toy. A world in love with a spinner. A fidget spinner. Okay, I'm (almost) good with that, but this is something I cannot accept. This is something I will never accept.
Driving a stick shift is becoming a lost skill in today’s society. Only a handful of teenagers know how successfully operate a car with a manual transmission. Most will reply with nothing but a blank stare if asked what a clutch is. It’s very common for cars that possess super speed to be powered by a manual transmission, therefore if one wishes to drive a deluxe car like this, they ought to learn how to maneuver a stick shift.
I had first formal exposure to civil engineering in course “Architecture 1”. This course provided me the fundamental concepts of civil architectural principles such as designing procedure, architectural component’s layouts, functional spaces as well as environmental impacts. To strengthen my concepts I pursued the courses “Strength of Materials”, “Structural Mechanics” which gave me essential knowledge about the external and internal forces occuring in simple structural elements under action of various types of loading as well as fundamental concepts in structural analysis such as modellisation, classification of structures. I gained valuable exposure to the analysis of simple structures submitted to compound loadings by the application of the principle of superposition for such cases as: unsymmetric bending, combined bending and tension or compression, combined bending and torsion, general compound loading. Futhermore, I was fascinated by the force method and displacement method for analysis of statically and kinetically indeterminate structures.
But it is not actually a single piece structure, but is made by welding several parts together. Advantages are that automation can be easily done, making it feasible for mass production. Since a large amount of metal is used in the construction, a Crumple-zone can be incorporated into the design. Disadvantages include its weight, due to the large amount of metal used. Space-Frame and a Monocoque are suitable for the current application.
In the short story The Flying Machine by Ray Bradbury, the theme is each invention comes with its own consequences. There are several details throughout the story that supports this statement, relating to the man’s invention. Although the man created his wings with innocent intentions, there were many consequences he thought through in the development of such a creation. First off, inventions have an impact on the inventors themselves. On page five the Emperor stated, “ “Burn the kite and the inventor’s body, and bury their ashes tougher.”
