Abortion has been a national hot debate topic after the U.S.’s Supreme Court’s 7-2 decision on Roe v. Wade. The Supreme Court states that the privacy right, which is also known as the abortion right, is rightfully being protected by the First, Fourth, Ninth, and Fourteenth Amendments. Marriage, contraception, and child rearing are being included in the privacy right, therefore women have the right to whether or not to terminate her pregnancy. Nevertheless, some people believe that the right to abort is not in the Constitution’s protection simply because of their personal and religious views. These people are known as “pro-life”, while the others who support abortion are known as “pro-choice”. I am interested in this problem because I believe that there is a simple solution yet some citizens make it more complicated than it seems. Abortion is a method of removing a fetus or an embryo from the mother. It is an important solution for some women who had experienced unfortunate events, such as rape. As a citizen, one needs to be interested in this …show more content…
Birth mothers can try to find adoptive parents who would love to have kids but cannot. This can be done through internet services. Another option is to have a social worker involves in the process of adopting a child. This means that the social worker will keep the contact between biological mothers and adoptive parents and make sure that the child is healthy. Last but not least, providing more contraceptive pills would reduce abortion. All of the solutions is working, but not too well since there is still a rift between “pro-choice” and “pro-life”. In my opinion, the solution is easy: let a woman has the power to decide if she wants to keep the child inside her. Obviously, “pro-life” people would disagree with my solution because they believe that the moment the conception happens, a life has created. This means that no matter what stage of the pregnancy, there is a human being in
The option of adoption is another route that those with unwanted children could go for rather than abortion, unless in the most dire of
On January 22 of 1973, the Supreme Court ruled abortion as a fundamental right. Forty-five years later, many people still take a stance as Pro-Life and don’t believe that abortion is a right. Though the reason for why people have different standpoints on this topic could seemingly be endless, the main roots of this argument are based on differences in morality, legality, and religious viewpoints. Despite the mass protests that have occurred, nothing has changed regarding the laws on abortion. The most recent shock to the people regarding the topic of abortion was when President Trump was pictured with six other men signing a ban on federal funding for international groups that provide information on abortions.
In my paper I am discussing the debate of abortion in terms of induced, which is the intentional termination of pregnancy through drugs or surgery, and therapeutic, that is the abortion performed to preserve the life and health of the mother. In this paper, I take a strong stance against the acceptance of abortion both legally and socially. The main arguments used against pro-life (support for the abolishment of abortion), is based on the valuing of life. To those who are pro-choice (liberals, etc.), argue that it is the woman’s choice to decide whether or not to have an abortion based on the grounds of valuing her life. Her life in the present, and her life in the future, as maybe having a child can hinder her future goals, and plans.
Whether or not you agree or disagree there will always be a raging counterargument pertaining to the life or death dilemma. Pro-life is the basic understanding that the baby should be kept by all means, and with no indifference to such it would be declared as murder. As stated in the article, “many people, who are strongly religious, however, do not recognize any difference between emergency contraceptives because they believe that human life begins at the very moment of fertilization.” (Further implementing that the government has to right to preserve all human lives) In addition many individuals
Women should not be forced to have a child. There is no wrong is ending an unwanted pregnancy. “Having a child is a fundamental life altering decision, and it is for the women to make this decision” (Sanger 9). Every baby that comes into this world, should be wanted. There is no point of bringing an unwanted child into this world, when there is another
There are so many couples in this country that can't have kids. Thats what I don't get. The women that get abortions should think about the women that can't get pregnant and want to start a family. Think about how happy they would be if you gave them the most amazing gift they would ever get in there life. A women I know and love very much tried so hard on having a baby.
Ridding ourselves of the disabled, the broken, and the unwanted, purely because we see them as an inconvenience instead of an opportunity, a burden instead of an inspiration, and a hassle to be ridded of rather than a blessing to be cherished. Well over one million abortions take place in the United States annually. With only 12 percent of these abortions being spontaneous or because of health complications, the other 82 percent are reported to be because of an inconvenience a child would be to one or both of the
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. Many people are constantly debating whether or not abortion should be allowed or not. Some people think abortion is very bad and that it should not be allowed at all. They think abortion is like committing murder as it is killing the human fetus. Others feel that the parents should have the right to choose and it is not murder until the baby is born.
According to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (2011) “philosophers have turned their attention to the ethics of reproduction, they have mostly focused on abortion.” There are other ethical issues that exist as it relates to pregnancy, birth and medicine but abortion has been an age old topic that has been debated over and over again, regarding whether or not it is ethical. Abortion is defined by NHS Choices as the “medical process of ending a pregnancy so it does not result in the birth of a baby.” There are also a few reasons as listed by NHS Choices, as to why women may choose to have an abortion which are; “personal circumstances – including risk to the wellbeing of existing children, a health risk to the mother as well as a high
Abortion is the deliberate killing of the weakest and the most defenseless among us. No one has the right to take the life of another person, even an unborn child. Abortion usually ends up hurting the mother as the emotional effects become worse and worse. This problem is even more common when there is pressure by others on the woman to have the abortion, and she does so reluctantly. Adoption is a lot safer than abortion, if people knew the facts about abortion I bet they would rather give their child for adoption rather than having an abortion.
The issue of abortion is an ongoing debate in the U.S, that involves a variety of moral, social, and legal issues. The ethics surrounding the procedure are frequently disputed and people often question whether abortion should remain a legal option for terminating pregnancies. Proponents of abortion, favor unrestricted access and contend that it’s a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body. On the other hand, opponents seek to ban the practice and argue that deliberately ending an unborn child’s life is morally wrong. While abortion provides essential medical and social benefits to women, it also deprives an innocent child of the right to life.
Years back people knew that if a male makes a female pregnant they’ll have to marry get married irrespective of their age, but now people go for abortion. They see it as a solution to not face consequences of their own actions. Which is wrong. Problem statement What are the causes of abortion and how can we solve this issue of abortion?
Birth control is highly effective, Oral contraception is 91-99% effective, (multiple sources say it varies depending on how well the user is using it, but general consensus that it is in this range of numbers) condoms are also highly effective as they are able to prevent 98% of pregnancies. This makes it extremely hard to have an unwanted baby unless something special happens. If you manage to impregnate a girl unintentionally without using these methods then you only have yourself to blame. Abortions create another safety net for this for people who are reckless. It’s a cycle, a man sleeps around (or woman), gets impregnated and then gets abortions because they don’t feel like using birth control.
The termination of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own is called abortion. Nowadays, abortion is so common that more than forty percent of all women will perform abortion at some time of their reproductive lives. While this numbers are scary, what is more troublesome is that several countries support this dreadful act. Society is now considering this act of murder each day more normal, and position the mother 's rights before the baby´s rights. Killing an adult is no different than killing a fetus, both are genetically unique and were made by God.
This could lead to the mother neglecting the baby even more once it has been born and an increased chance of child abuse and trauma. By legalizing abortion we are reducing the chances of child abuse, which is already a major issue. In today’s society research by Stephen D. Schwarz, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, showed that “In the two decades before abortion was legal in the U.S, it has been estimated that nearly a million women per year sought out abortions”. Out of these millions of women, thousands had died and tens of thousands were left in an unhealthy state. Once abortion had been legalized by the United States Supreme Court’s in 1973 there has been a major decline in the number of women illegally getting abortions, this was because more women were accessing hospitals and health services.
