Imagine that you are a land owner in the late 1700’s and the king has just put out a new taxes and they are more than you can afford to pay. Would you just try and pay it or would you stand up for yourself and fight for your rights? When it comes to being an American the revolutionist definitely had the right idea of what it took to be an American. However if you were a land owner and you were being taxed are you just going to pray to God and say he will make the taxes go down or make you get more money? No, the king is the king and he is not going to change the taxes because of prayers. Praying has nothing to do with taxes and it has nothing to do with the king.
