Traffic jams, packed buses and trains, discourteous and reckless drivers, people who smell - depending on your mode of transportation, these are the things that you literally need to deal with on your way to work. Even though it 's painfully obvious that traffic occurs during peak hours, it 's still perplexing when you think about why people would go through the same routines day in day out when they could start the day off positively with just a little discipline and control of their life. A simple task of jumping out of bed early to get to work early would devoid you of having to go through this agonizing process. So let 's take a look on the perks of being early for work:
You have more hours to spare
Getting up early means that you 'll have more time to spare before heading to work. You 'll have more time to get ready for work whether if it 's spending 5 minutes with your family in the morning or enjoying your breakfast at home while reading the paper. You 'll even have time to do your chores, head to the gym or go for a jog.
Most people would be dead tired by the time they 've arrived home, and the dread of doing chores will no doubt give them more stress. By the time they 've finished taking a shower, dinner and watching a little TV, they would already be too exhausted to do anything else, including spending quality time with their family. If they don 't even have the privilege to enjoy spending time in their own home, where 's the point in that really?

On these days, the extra hour helps me to trudge through the school day and the long hours of activities I have afterward with some energy left to spare. If one hour keeps me energized throughout the day, then imagine an extra hour on school mornings everyday. For this reason, implementing a later start and end time in high schools across the country will not only benefit students mentally but also
Having later start times can benefit kids in many ways such as improving their grades. When schools have later start times, students can wake up later and be more awake leading to them being more attentive in class and getting better grades. Researcher Finley Edwards “Found that math scores improved by 2 percentile points and reading scores by 1 point in middle schools that moved to a later start time.” Students might end up being tired in class because they didn't sleep long enough the night before leading to them not learning in class that may result in worse grades that the student is capable. Students grades and staying on task can be improved by having schools start later.
Later School Start Times “‘I’ve gained an hour of sleep,’ she said. ‘I definitely feel a lot better. I find myself waking up around 7:30 without an alarm because it’s a natural time. It’s a great, great feeling.’” Says Lily Grey Rudges, a high school student in Seattle(At these schools, later start times get an A-plus for youths needing more sleep).
Kids could just simply go to bed later if we had late start so in a way it would only ruin everything for nothing. It would get dark later, kids could have to get new jobs, parents could have to make a whole new schedule for nothing and students would not be getting the ‘health benifits’ that people say having late start will do. Late start obviously not a good idea for anyone in the community. It will only make things
School should start a lot later because it can improve mental health and the well being of the students attending; it can increase overall attendance and grades; and it can recover a student's mood and ability. Parents, students and teachers often argue, with little evidence, about whether U.S. high schools begin too early in the morning. In the past three years, however, scientific studies have piled up, and they all lead to the same conclusion: a later start time improves learning, and the later the start, the better. When a student is forced to wake up earlier than required, it can cause stress and ruin someone's entire day. But, when you wake up later it not only improves your mood, but also your ability to perform well.
Another thing about the busses being later is that the bus drivers wouldn’t be so cranky. Bus drivers are sometimes tired and cranky in the morning. One other thing we have to worry about in the morning is it being dark. It generally makes people tired when it's dark outside. It’s not fun when students go to school
Next thing you know, it’s a new day and the roosters have started singing but you wake up all grumpy and mad because you feel that your night's rest wasn't long enough. Most people are used to the fact that waking up early and being ready as soon as possible is the best thing to do in order to be set for school. But are you really ready once everything is set? It is best if school were to start more later in the day because students of all schools would be more prepared by the time they make it to school.
Imagine the benefits of having later start times for high school students. This controversial subject has been discussed by professionals over the past few years, some argue the start times are too early for teens while others tend to disagree. High school students should have later start times because it benefits their grades, their amount of sleep, and also provides advantages for the parents and School Board. By delaying the start times of the school, studies have shown improvements in grades and performance in teens. A study done by the University of Minnesota shows that by setting back start times for school showed an increase in grades 10th-12th.
Kids wouldn 't mature from school starting later, because if they get to wake up later, they will have life to easy. If kids don 't learn why it 's important to wake up early and be on time for things, they could have this problem when they get jobs and then their boss will fire them for being tired and lazy. Nobody wants a lazy-tired slob at their college or workplace. It 's a good thing that kids struggle to get sleep and wake up, so they can learn to get sleep instead of drinking tons of coffee, and use their time
A reason for this is that waking up too early could be dangerous. In highschool students begin to learn to drive, some owning their own cars to drive to school (Pietrangelo and Watson). When they have to wake up early in order to drive to school they may be too tired for it to be considered safe for them to drive on the roads. This leads to car crashes that leaves their lives and the person who they hits life in danger. Not to mention those who are close enough to walk to school also may be too tired to properly pay attention.
If students have lack of sleep, they may not pay attention to the roads and the drivers on the roads, which increases the risk of traffic accidents, (according to www.npr.org). The increased risk of traffic accidents may also be because of how dark it is outside when students have to walk over to the bus stop. It’s so early when kids’ buses come, that it’s usually dark outside, and drivers may not see kids walking. The final reason why middle and high school start times should be later is for the protection of student health.
Have you ever felt like you are not taking in as much as you could from your first few classes well if you have you are right. Your brain is not actually taking in information until 8:30AM that is because you should not be waking up until 8:00 AM. The reason for this is your mental clock. A mental clock is how your brain decides when you should be sleeping and when you should be getting up in the morning.
21% of teen motor vehicle accidents are caused by drowsy driving. Many teens everyday are complaining about their school start times being way too early. Teen tiredness is now considered to be a public health pandemic. School starting at a later time is beneficial because it helps students catch up on sleep. It helps students stay out of trouble.
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up super early in the morning to get to school. Am I right? Well I think it’s the worst! In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for one’s health and it’s better for students’ concentration in class.
