Building the Great Wall of The United States At a rally in early February 2016, Trump told the crowd, “We are going to have borders nice and strong. We are going to build a wall. You know that. Going to build the wall…. Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Right? It’s going to happen. Going to happen. They know it. I know it. We all know it.” (1) Immigration in the United States has many pros and cons, it has become one of the hottest topics on our media outlets. Are you on the left-handed side or the right? Building a wall is a little extreme and wouldn’t really stop those that are going to break the law anyways. With the rise of illegal immigrants, it is effecting our economy, education, and assistance programs for US citizens. "It is silly to deny that the influx of nearly 11 million illegal immigrants—mostly low-skilled adults and their children—strain resources in public schools and …show more content…
As we all know, there are millions of illegal immigrants in the country looking for better employment and opportunities, and with the different solutions that most debaters propose in order to stop this problem, we rarely hear about job-related proposals. Debates on the subject always center about amnesty, enforcement immigration laws, and border security. We forget to realize that the main reason why these people are attracted to the US is because of jobs. Wouldn’t it just be fair to give these people a chance, the only reason for illegally entering the country is to have a better life for themselves and their families. As mentioned, there’s no easy way to solve this problem, but we have to do something to finally end this. Those that are mentioned above are only a few of the proposed solutions that could end our problem about illegal immigration, and there’s a lot more out there that could potentially fix it. All that we have to do is make a move. Unless we do something, the problem will not go
This scenario is what people hope will be reality if the wall is built all along the southern border. It will create a world where illegal immigrants will have a harder time coming into the United States and disturbing how many Americans live. This wall between the United States and Mexico has led to many arguments on either side. With the United States 2016 Presidential Campaign currently going on and Donald Trump saying that he wants to build a wall between the United States and Mexico, border walls are becoming a popular discussion
United States can start off by building a wall to stop all illegal immigrants from passing through. Although it would cost billions, only one third of the U.S Mexico is bordered or fenced off. By using Border Line patrol agents would cost much more as time goes on. So why no build a wall. The wall can last much longer and is sufficient enough to block out any immigrants from passing though.
The U.S- Mexico border is 1,969 miles long and would take a rough estimate of $22.4 billion dollars to secure it. Arizona has raised $50 million in private donations for it. So we have some of the money, but nobody wants to take a step in making our border safer. The government would also have to buy some private land in order to build the fence and would also have to get border security (‘’What would it take to secure our border’’). It is obviously a huge expense, but it is something that needs to be done.
Illegal Immigration Reform More than 11.4 million illegal immigrants currently reside in the United States that’s almost equivalent to how many people live in the entire state of Ohio. Most of these illegal immigrants are hardworking people that help the welfare of the economy and the have a high impact on the culture of the United States. The proposition is that Illegal Immigrants who have paid there Tax’s and have resided for more than 10 years, consecutively in the United States should be given a way to get a legal residency. This residency would give them benefits like a social security which would let them get a good job and a license and have basic human rights. Illegal immigrants deserve these rights because they create the most business,
Illegal immigration should be strongly halted by the Government, by eradicating unwarranted aliens who pose a threat to the American dream, and all that America stands
According to a study released last year by the Pew Hispanic Center, as of 2008, 11.9 million illegal immigrants lived in the United States, more than triple the 3.5 million who lived in the country in 1990 (Izumi). Immigration throughout the years has become a major issue in the U.S because of too many immigrants entering the country year after year. The U.S has come to a point whether they should deport the immigrants back to their country. Believe it or not, these immigrants are a big contribution to the U.S. If it wasn’t for them, the U.S economy wouldn’t be where it stands now.
Fences can only do so much; people are the ones who stop the illegal immigrants from coming in. Only 44% of the border is under watch. The other 56% of the border is slightly monitored. In order to keep the United States secure from illegal aliens, all of the border has to be under operational control. More troops from the national guard need to be called in and spread out across the border.
A border wall would be necessary for specific reasons, such as drug control. Debate.org believes that a border wall will prevent drugs. Factcheck.org believes that a border wall will stop illegal substances from coming into this country. Lastly, blvdcenters.org believes that a wall will keep the drugs out. Nevertheless, a border wall would be a good resolution because it would keep the illegal substances and their smugglers out of what the people of America call home.
Illegal immigrants evidently have had the ability to leach off of the American government, due to Obamacare. Illegal immigration is without a doubt one of the most attention needing problems the United States faces. The adversity devised from the jobs that illegal immigrants have apprehended from US citizens is formidable. President Trump has promised that he will reform the immigration laws and following his presidential campaign promise, building a large wall that separates Mexico and The United States. Building the wall reassures the population that we are indeed safe, we are a powerful country and there is no free ride in the land of hope and possibility.
A problem that we have had in the country for a very long time is; people coming into this country illegally. It is causing over population, loss in jobs, stolen taxpayer resources, and an increase in crimes, even terrorism. The best way to handle this problem is for every employer to check every single employees birth certificate, citizenship, or green card to make sure that they can be in America legally. Whoever should not be here, needs to be deported back to their own country. Then this would fix all the problems illegal immigrants cause.
One of America’s most controversial issues today is the border between the United States and Mexico. The big part of the issue is due to illegal immigration, which is when foreigners enter the U.S. without an entry or an immigrant visa. President Trump says he has found a solution, otherwise known as the “border wall,” but this will not stop people from wanting a better life. Of course I get why he and others would want to continue the process obviously to keep us safe from terrorists and other dangers of the world, but, to every pro there is a con. Even though the fence along the U.S./Mexico border is already being built, it should not continue being built because it is expensive, hurts the environment, and immigration rates have significantly dropped.
Immigration has always been a controversial topic in the United States. Recently, it has become an even more relevant and heated issue due to current presidential candidate, Donald Trump’s racist comments towards Mexican Immigrants as well as other racial minorities. Despite the fact that it has always been a highly discussed issue, it has never been resolved in an appropriate manner in which both sides of the argument can find a middle ground. As of today there are approximately eleven million undocumented immigrants in the United States, most of them are hiding in the shadows of society in fear of being deported. The fear that these immigrants face on a daily basis is why we should reconsider our current immigration policy and help provide
A border wall between the U.S and Mexico will not protect American jobs and reduce crime. The only thing that the border wall can do is affecting the trade market, affect the economy, and cut thru the bridge of nature. All these things will immensely affect our country. Our economy will rapidly drop, we won 't have a strong trade market, and our ecosystem will start slowly dying. One important reason that a border wall between the U.S and Mexico will not protect American jobs and reduce crime is that building a wall will only affect the trade market.
Although it seems like building a wall provides increased protection for the country, it is actually inducing inner turmoil. The new policies introduced by the president are normalizing the discrimination between contradictory groups, rather than strengthening our relationship with them. If society continues to resist change, it might also lead to a war that America cannot win. Therefore, it is necessary to have individuals like Noah to help appease the situation. It is nature’s law for all organisms to evolve and adapt to their environment, and humans are no
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.
