There are several issues in society today, but there is one that is seen as the greatest achievement while at the same time becoming a slow and ongoing problem. Technology is one of the world’s greatest feats and has come a long way into a digital era in which a vast majority of the population in the United States base their lives in every respect. One area in particular has the unfortunate result of this ongoing situation where the nation has become far too dependent on electronic or computer based technology to survive. Education in the last decade alone has seen a dramatic increase in the use of everything digital because it is both useful and supposedly needed. The use of electronic-computer based technology is both a good thing and a bad thing, which inadvertently causes issues in society’s education because there is circumstantial evidence to suggest that society is reliant on technology. Technology has become an indirect problem because more and more people in the education sphere choose to use the digital devices provided instead of more traditional methods. It has been suggested by a teacher, that the use of online programs for grade school level education and upper level studies, all online based have increased (Fink and Brown 3).
