ers. They also were kept as herders and pets. Irish immigrants respected the Pitbull breed. “Pitbulls haven’t always had a bad rep”
A dog park has no place in a residential area. Now a dog park would give a dog a place to exercise and play it would be a disturbance to the residents that live close to the dog park. Not only would there be pleanty of dogs that would be barking wether that be at another dog or a starnger, it would not be the best sound to hear all day everyday. A dogs bark avereges at 75 decibles biggers dogs can bark at 100 decibles which "even through a closed window, a dogs bark can reach a noise level that is mentally upsetting". Reports/complaints about this have come from Reston,Virgina and Chandler, Arizona.
The American Kennel Club, or AKC, is one of the leading kennel clubs of the world, which has caused them to be very vocal within this debate. Throughout the years the AKC has come out multiple times saying they do not condone inhumane breeding practices and that they are strongly against such practices. They have fired back at those who say kennel clubs reward inhumane breeding habits in dog shows, which opponents claim is based on looks, with a statement in The Washington Post after the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. They stated that one of their main missions during a dog show is to find superior quality dogs that will create a new generation of healthy purebreds (“Defending Purebred Dogs”). This reassurance calms some of those who fear
Are Puppy Mills Bad? A young girl got a puppy for Christmas; weeks later her puppy died. It was ruled that this puppy died from a severe respiratory disease which caused the air passages to become closed resulting in slow suffocation. It was later discovered that this puppy had been raised in a puppy mill. A puppy mill is an inhumane organization that breeds and sells puppies. Puppy mills have been around since before 1970. To this day there are more than 10,000 mills existing in the United States (Humanesociety). These mills are mostly inspected and licensed by the U.S.D.A. (National Puppy Mill Project). It has been estimated that a mill in Iowa brought in $15 million a year (Hesse). There are people who were in need of money who began
Do you have a love of dogs? If so, then you will be very interested in this essay. I have conducted some research and even though I am not a dog lover I do not feel that all the pit bulls in Texas should be banned. The pit bulls only know what their owners teach them. Texas pit bull owners need to teach them to be good. Texas should not ban all the pit bulls because of the actions of a few. Pit bulls also scored very high on their temperament test.
Living in a community that is dog park friendly may be a solution to a more positive happy encounter with others. Not only is your loyal companion happy and very much content but so are
The cities provide us with parks and they rely on the people to respect and follow the rules in place. often the rules are heeded and there could be a lawsuit waiting to happen because if an encounter were to occur whether its dog vs dog or dog vs victim its rightful for the individual to sue not only the attackers owner but the city as well for not enforcing the law. although this could be factual its also possible that there wouldnt be any attacks and that the dogs could actually get along if provided the space to socialise, exersize and hang out. The issue of dogs noise levels that prevents residents from sleeping as it says in the opposing passage can easily be addressed by setting an appropriate time frame and having the park closed at a reasonable hour. The opposing passage stated that the park is too expensive and that the fence alone is 70,000 dollars and that dog owners shouldnt pressure the city to provide the space they cannot provide themselves. the park is expensive but worth it because passage one provided solid facts and how this park can benefit dog owners and their dog. the dog park can cut down the amount of dogs that get disgarded in the
The American Pit Bull is such a great dog. They are well-known for their intelligence, strength and loyalty. But in recent years they have been unfairly villainized for being overly dangerous and aggressive. While Pit Bulls do indeed possess a feisty and spirited character, the history of the breed reveals a much more complex tapestry of personality and temperament.
American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terrier, and the Staffordshire Bull Terriers, commonly known as “Pit Bulls”, are all breeds of dogs that are universally misunderstood. Pit Bulls are commonly seen as vicious, dangerous, and violent animals. Unfortunately, Pit Bulls are falling victim to dog racism. Over the years, Pit Bulls have gained a negative reputation, but why? For my research project, I want to address the common misconceptions that constantly follow the bully breed of dogs. Do these misconceptions come from how some owners choose to train their dog? Or, do the misconceptions come from a lack of understanding about this breed of dog? In addition, how does media portrayal affect the views people have on Pit Bulls?
Animals are being abused everyday and they are not taken into consideration when you see them being abused. They are suffering and they are being abused everyday and you all need to stop it. Zoos have been around since the eighteenth century. A zoo is defined as a compound where wild animals are kept for viewing and studying. The purpose of a zoo is mainly for education and protection, preserving animal species that are either at a risk of becoming extinct or for increased collection size (Jamieson). Animals from around the world have been enclosed in an area where we can admire and study these fine creatures. However, many modern zoos around the world have introduced animal shows, petting and feeding sessions to attract more visitors in order to earn more money. This leads to many concerns from the public on the physical and mental impacts of captivity on the wild animals. This essay examines the advantages and disadvantages of zoos to lead us to a possible conclusion whether it is ethical to place animals in captivity. We will also examine if zoos have the best possible facilities to keep animals in captivity.

After investigating on different advantages and disadvantages of the government developing country parks for housing purpose, with reference to the parameters based on the coverage and the effectiveness of the development, the Hong Kong Government should develop country parks for housing purposes. Those parameters should be considered as the development of country parks can benefit a large group of people and the effectiveness can be measured by the ease of development.
When having a pet in the house it provides motivation to get active. Kids are encouraged to go play outside with their beloved pets and adults are encouraged to exercise the pets such as going on walks or throwing the ball outside. Studies from the UK and Australia “have found links between dog ownership and increased physical activity and healthier BMI in children, though this most recent study didn't find such a correlation”. Pets can serve as workout partners for all the obligors that rely on something to keep themselves motivated. Picture waking up one morning and not feeling the six mile jog you told yourself you would do the previous night. However as you sit up in your bed and look over to see your dog sitting so politely with those big puppy dog eyes. There is no choice but to put your tennis shoes on and tire out your cute little pooch before leaving for work.
