World is a place which different people live, which makes it beautiful. The secret hidden in this beauty is people’s different characteristics, which race is one of the important characteristics. Race cannot be in our control, it is god gifted. But in the last years some industries are trying to persuade racism among people specially the industries that promote racism by launching advertisements of fairness products in TVs. Fortunately, for making these damages less, an Indian woman started a campaign by the name of “Dark is beautiful”, in this campaign she tried a lot to motivate the girls that have darker skin and make them feel that they are also beautiful. Besides, producing fairness products might create discrimination between people. Skin’s color is determined by Melanin in skin cells it is produced protect our skin from UV rays of sun. However, chemicals that are used in these types of products can cause skin irritations and skin cancers for instance these fairness products has anti-melanin, hydroquinone, and mercury that can damage our healthy skin. So, we have to be careful if we are using it. Also, if we see it clearly it might create a public health crisis in the dominant countries. Unfortunately , the advertiser did not represent all skin type in the advert, all ladies where white- skinned, With this it is difficult for the individuals who are black skinned to be convinced that Perfect Hands will work for them as it did for the ladies in white skinned.

In conclusion tanning may be very popular and fashionable, but it poses numerous internal threats and external health threats. With the information about the threats, we need to put a stop to tanning and preserve our natural beauty. External threats such as malignant melanoma and other types of skin cancers, wrinkles, sunburn, and skin aging. These effects are very dangerous on the skin and can be avoided if the effects are known before the damage is already done. The internal health problems ruin the immune system, making it harder to fight skin cancer and other diseases.

In her article, Tavernise insists that indoor tanning provides people with skin cancer which might bring them to having melanoma (the most serious type of skin cancer). Sabrina Tavernize says that many factors, including genetics, are at play with skin cancer, one of the largest is the ultraviolet light, which people get during tanning process, it exposures its non burning ray to getting melanoma. Teenage girls from different states, who were intervied said, that tan skin makes them feel “… more confident and more comfortable...,” when they walk around, but they don’t realize what the risk is. According to the information used in the article, tanning beds account approximately 400,000 cases of skin cancer in the United States each year, with 6,000 cases of melanoma.
The media portrays the average person as flawless, thin, tall, and beautiful. They advertise products that can help a person achieve what they call “perfection.” They slap photos all over the place, on billboards, magazines, and ads, showing us what a “real” person looks like. The media brainwashes us into believing that we need to meet their standards in order to achieve ultimate beauty and should we stray from the path they pave, we will not be considered beautiful. Our society places too much emphasis on our appearances, forcing many to undergo drastic changes to become “beautiful.”

Even after their emancipation, African Americans struggled with exclusion, whether it be direct, indirect, political, social or other. James Baldwin, an African American man, contrasts the types of oppression he, and others, have faced in “A Letter to my Nephew” , drawing parallels from slavery to the discrimination of the 60’s. He explains how many think blacks must assimilate into “white” culture, but, in reality, it must be those who think that way who must escape from the mentality of needing to assimilate.
Embracing diversity in the media is important because it will shed light on the importance of protecting against racial stereotyping. Racial stereotyping is a well know problem that all minorities have faced. Racial stereotyping is when a person has preconceived notions on a person because they are of a certain race. A great deal of stereotyping stems from the media’s lack of diversity that has casted stereotypes towards minorities.
It has been explored how news media abuse people with different skin colour or religion. For example how they portray black people and constantly associate them with terms like crime. This theory is supported by Diawara where he says, “This tends to leave a negative impression of the certain group in the audience’s mind and they are more likely to associate their future experiences based on their impression.” it is also evident by (couriermail.com) where states, “The new problem is social media – it’s easy for people to hide behind a mobile phone to make racial slurs,”. In other words, it is easy for people to use their mobile phone and by speaking be rude to people from different cultures .
“The evidence suggests that black cover girls don’t sell as well as white cover girls, people of color are routinely not selected for the covers of many broad-circulation magazines ‘for fear they will depress newsstand sales.” (Phoenix 99). The solution to stop this would be if people stopped buying and paying attention to what is being put out on the media then companies who are selling these products can shut down and have less people with being insecure with their own skin. "The desire to be lighter is so great that some people with dark skin knowingly use illegal creams that contain harmful ingredients such as hydroquinone, mercury, and corticosteroids because they are believed to be stronger and thus more effective” (Phoenix 100). In 2009 there was a report of a skin bleaching which made $10 billion by the year of 2020 the company will now reach to $23 billion.
