The Arguments About Police Brutality
Police Brutality is an ongoing problem in the United States and should be resolved immediately. Law enforcement must operate as an organization that is organized and civilized. Police brutality is becoming more of an issue as the nation grows. Police Brutality and police work itself is extremely dangerous. Sometimes police officers are put in situations that force is needed. But some officers use these extreme measures in situations when it is not needed. Police brutality should be addressed. The use of excessive force may or may not be large problem but it really should be looked into.
My first argument is African Americans are targeted by police officers. African American males are too often involved in incidents that involve police brutality . Many think the African American males are targeted because of his skin and because he is expected to fail and/ or is expected to be doing something bad. There are many cases where police had wrong judgement. Many cases that involve this minority group is believed to be holding an weapon but for most is not true. Most of these males are unarmed and harmless. There has been little information about these cases

Police officer think they're above the law because of their jobs. There jobs are to protect and serve. The case “Critical Mass Bicyclist Assaulted by NYPD”(“ Brainz” 30 cases of extreme Police Brutality and Blatant Misconduct) is a prime example that police brutality is not directed at one race.In this case a white male was assaulted he was thrown of his bicycle while cycling with a group. An example that it doesn't matter what gender you are is a case that is about an 11-year-old girl being teased by police at school. The girl and another student was fighting and instead of trying to break it up the officer tased the
However, research demonstrates that often times men of color are treated harshly which leads to negative perceptions of police officers. Police brutality is a crime that is has been surfacing in the news recently. Some people are just starting to realize that these injustices against the black community really occur, while others are well aware. The recent shootings, different run-ins with officers being filmed while doing such harmful actions against African American men is an example of police brutality and, that reminds us that as a society work needs to be done to improve police and community relations. A black male cannot even walk down the street on a cold night because he might be a suspect from something or he may be of danger to the people around.
The way officers use power should be used in certain situations but, all situations don’t need force. Police brutality is cruel; as the police are paid to protect people from danger, not bring on additional harm and stretch. Police should be prepared and trained the right way, so they don't use extra force. Police are put on a grid of power and so we expect. Over
Often police officers build up negative feelings towards certain races, sexes, or religions. Officers tend to get the idea that if one or a few people treat them with disrespect, then other people of that same sex or creed will behave the same.
Police Brutality Brutality is savage physical violence; great cruelty. In this case the people who sworn to serve and protect the citizens are committing brutal acts against the ones they must protect. Either in sense of suspicion or an actual arrest the citizens could be in potential peril. The recent actions from law enforcement creates controversy about officers abusing their power and their use of excessive force.
Police have had a history of examples of excessive brutality all over America. The Rodney King beating happened on March 3, 1991. The Rodney king incident was one of the most tragic and infamous examples of abuse of power by the police. Of course most cops are very good and incredible people who do their job properly but there are some who use excessive force who need to be stopped.
I feel that every police officer performs the way they were trained to perform, and I think they should change some of their tactics so they don’t place reliance on excessive or lethal force. I also feel that every police officer needs to be retrained to revamp and refresh their memory no matter how long they have been on the force. The police officers should be given training where they are put in scenarios that might actually occur while they are on duty. In training they should teach them to show individuals respect. That will make the individual feel a little more comfortable and not be so hostile toward police officers.
Worst of all, this misconduct is potentially led by prejudice, as there are many racial disparities in the police force. In order to deconstruct racism and reduce the amount of injuries and deaths caused by some police officers, punishments for this behavior need to be solidified and pre-established laws regarding discrimination need to be clarified. There needs to be an increase of awareness in the media to properly address the situation from an educated point of view and put an end to police brutality. Police officers are allowed to use force, but only in situations that cause endangerment.
Police brutality shouldn't be a thing but ways that can help reduce it are to increase accountability for police violence through financial strategies, removal of military force, and more restrictive laws governing use of force. Police departments should pay any lawsuits with their own budget. According to Kline, “suspend the use of paid leave when
Police officers are meant to enforce the law, but why in some cases, does the law not adhere to them? With that being said, police officers need to be held accountable for such intolerable acts and need to be shown some sort of punishment because too many innocent men, women, and even kids are paying the price for the officers’ mistakes. As a way to try to prevent police brutalities and misconduct, body-worn cameras have been issued to document the behavior of police officers. This might have sounded like a good idea to stop police brutality, but in reality it had little effect and simply publicized the fact that police are abusing their power.
There is no doubt that there is police brutality. In the old case of Rodney King, it was a clear case of police brutality the police should be prosecuted and put into jail over something of that nature. There are police who feel too empowered and feel like they gen do anything without.
Police brutality is a serious issue within the realm of police use of force, which goes against the standards of
Police brutality will be an issue until a solution is created. Many individuals are victims of this form of assault on daily basis. The liberties held by law enforcement are challenged each time they perform their duties. Police officers should abide by the same laws that each citizen is expected to abide by. Although police officers are granted with the right to determine laws as constitutional, civilians are sometimes treated in ways that are beyond unlawful.
People pick the side that either defends or criticize police officers use of force. However, the people do not realize that this topic is plainly ridiculous and dangerous. This issue will not only hurt both sides, but also harm innocent civilians as well. Police brutality is a big dispute between different communities; however, there are several solutions that can solve this
Law enforcement agents are should behave to a standard that is greater than the average civilian. Police brutality comes from an abuse of power granted to the police. Police brutality is often drawn on by overreaction in certain situations drawn on by panic. Police using excessive force in the United States is a crucial dilemma and must be stopped.
Police violence is a fact of life but society has come to fear police due to their higher power. Police violence is an issue, some people think riots are a way to solve it and others think it just cause more violence. Violence can be necessary in situations to protect our society but in other situations police have acted in ways that we question are the officers actually doing their job. Although violence can be necessary in situations, police could be trained better to handle these situations.
