Remove or Revise Zero-tolerance policies are policies that have been adapted in work places, communities, and, most frequently, schools. Depending on how certain schools are run and who they are run by, zero-tolerance policies could be positive and helpful or negative and harmful. Many people wonder are these policies really effective in reducing crime and creating safer environments in schools like lawmakers claim these policies are doing; most of the opponents to zero-tolerance policies believe that the policies are just cruel punishments that add to the problems that already exist in our schools and communities. There are obviously those who feel that the policies do exactly what they say they do; advocates for zero-tolerance policies
Have you ever wanted to participate in a sport, but you failed at a tryout? This paper talks about why we should no longer have tryouts for kid’s sports. This is a complicated issue because there are many sides to it, for example, some people may think that it tryouts teach kids to fail. This argument is misleading because if kids fail at a tryout, they may think that they are useless in the sport and they may give up sports altogether. The actual question to be decided is, should there be tryouts and why.
They could possibly then start to not do good and their classes or at anything at school because it might have a hard effect on them. If we keep letting it be allowed then this could be a serious consequence and your child's life if they are some of the weaker ones. ‘’Position on Dodgeball in physical education the states,’’Some kids may like it - the most skilled, the most confident. But many do not! Certainly not the student who gets hit hard in the stomach, head, or groin. And it's not appropriate to teach our children that you win by hurting others’’(pg.
But there is a lot of them, so with it being safer yet also more dangerous it is a standstill in that argument. Another pro to the list is that the children won’t be as afraid to go to school anymore as they were before. A con to that would be the fact that someone can still go into that school and start shooting, and the kids do still need to be aware of that. All of these reasons also affect the decision of putting this into effect. ”Arming Teachers and School Staff” National School Safety and
The incident, and several others public shooting incidents, would have been avoided if the shooter did not have a weapon on his person and if the country had more strict gun control laws. If Texas allows students to open carry their own weapons in school, hundreds more similar incidents may occur. The only time a state should be allow laxed gun laws is when the people have total and complete faith among each other, which is something that we currently lack in the country as of now. As public shootings occurrences continue to rise in the country, the people clearly are not ready to handle the situations by themselves. The Campus carry Law is not a step to better and protect the people as it will increase the rick of others, will not make people feel safe, and lead to more
A lot of people may have arguments against the reasons to get rid of sports, but there are are plenty of counter reasons to those as well. Some common arguments and questions include: What will all the kids do now that they no longer play sports? How will we motivate our students to make good grades? What happens to the skills kids would have learned from these sports? Well the individual students that do not participate in the sports anymore would have other activities that do not involve rising health concerns or long term damage to the body.
The ACLU would most likely file a lawsuit against any version of this policy if passed because they will say that it violates the separation of church and state because some of the schools that will take students using vouchers provided by the government. A potential harm of this policy is that is it could make it more difficult for children in heavily isolated areas to receive these higher levels of education because it will be difficult for them to have access to a private school. Students in these portions of the state are more likely to be the ones who need public schools than students that live in urban areas. While they will still receive a better education than before, it might not reach the level of the education being received by those in private
If students are bound to cheat and the honor code is not being enforced or is not fair, why have it? The environment in many schools impacts how students view the honor code. A school with a cheater mentality and an overall acceptance of cheating and plagiarism will have no use for an honor code, since they will not follow it. However, change the environment of the type of students and an honor code can now become beneficial and essential (Jennifer and
Adding volunteering to the mix would make things even harder. Having to deal with school work, possible extra curricular activities or jobs, and the fact that having it be a requirement would defeat the purpose of volunteering are some of the reasons why it shouldn’t be a requirement. As soon as an opening for relaxation comes along, it’s taken. In my opinion, students should not be forced to volunteer in order to graduate high
Many students that know uniforms will be beneficially, but don’t agree with school uniforms will continue to disagree with implementing them. It can be easily agreed that school uniforms may take away their self-expression in school, but what matters more in school is the way of learning. It can also be agreed that many students do not accept the self-expression of their classmates and make fun of them. Students, parents, and school administration should be able to recognize the benefits that school uniforms come with. In conclusion, school uniforms are a great thing to have in schools.
