Getting ready for college is hard for some people because they don’t have enough money for college. Also, all their hard work for entering college has gone to a waste since they don’t have enough money. College education should be free because it could give students the life that they want, it could also help students concentrate on their studies, and lastly some people can’t afford the money. Generally speaking, college education should be free. College education should be priceless because it could give students the life that they want.
I believe college education should be free, if someone is committed and wants to attend school to help them go far in life, I believe no money is needed. This is a real life problem today, families save generous amounts of money for there child to go to college. Every parent wants their child to succeed, and money can be a very wide obstacle to get over. Imagine someone growing up with little support from family members, and is not as fortunate as others, but very intelligent, they have no way of going too college, unless with a scholarship. Scholarships don't always pay for everything but a small or large chunk, depending on the area of success.
State-owned colleges should be free to attend because a person’s education should not cost anything. If state-owned colleges were free more people would be able to attend. When people go to college they should be stress-free. Not worrying about paying off loans and scholarships. College should not be a debt sentence for people who just want to further their education.
Although, the perspectives sound like a very good option, there are some disadvantages: the government will no longer have the accessibility to the money made from interest rates, which can diminish the opportunity for students to obtain student loans. Unlike these perspectives, there is a perspective that states that the student loans should all be
4 In conclusion, even though some people disagree that college is worth it, I think that college is worth it if you are willing to put the effort into it and not just horse around than you should go and put in that tuition but if you’re there to horse around and you’re just there for the parties than don’t put in that tuition. College is worth it because people with a diploma that are not going to college won’t be able to experience amazing social gatherings than people with a degree, and that people with a diploma make less money than people with a
With college you don't just study for a career, you study for something that you would like to do for your life. You don't have to know right away, but don't miss out on the value that college can bring you. In the article "Actually, College Is Very Much Worth It" by Andrew J. Rotherham, the author states,"College graduates are also more likely to be in jobs with better benefits, further widening the divide" (Rotherham 80). Having a better job and a better salary is good in many ways as to being able to pay for more like a car, house, and maybe kids. Money is a struggle for a lot of people and if you go to college you get an advantage to getting more money.
Do not get me wrong, the idea of having a free college to help those in need is illuminating. However, just because you want something doesn’t mean the right thing to do is to put yourself in dept. over it. As Americans we have to work to earn the things we want, and that includes waiting. The right thing to do for the United States is wait until we have the money to invest in the free
Not everyone has to attends college to do what they want in life or to earn their dream career. “When we praise people who do work that is straightforwardly useful, the praise often betrays an assumption, they had no other options” (Crawford ). People will not only be able to provide for their self, but also their family (“Why Should You Go to College?”). Since college makes it easier to receive a nice paying occupation people would be able take care of their family as well as themselves. College may cost a ton, but most people earn all the money back, because people that attend college accomplish great occupations.
Ultimately, colleges put higher education on a pedestal, which in turn makes job requirements steeper. This raises the price of supposed “basic” education, while not increasing pay for jobs. With a focus on specialized education for low-paying jobs, and consequently less income with more debt, colleges cause long-term financial problems, showing a complete disregard for the actual well-being of the student and their future, which is why students should examine other possibilities to secure their
If students used the student loan money wisely they would not be in so much debt as well as not having to take so much out and paying so much back in the long run. For example, if you receive your loan and are spending it on luxuries items all the time it’s only going to hurt you because you will end up having to pay back more than what you should have had to in the first place. Many young college attenders face this situation because they have no past experiences with handling money more responsibly. Learning to budget their money more has helped graduates successfully. As many stress of the inflation of college we all learn to live with it. Even though tuition is increasing we all attend college at the highest price.
Andrew Hacker and Claudia Dreifus support this argument in their article “Are Colleges Worth the Price of Admission?” when they criticize colleges for not focusing on the right priorities to aid undergraduate learning. If for-profit colleges were truly focused on undergraduate learning, they wouldn’t pile so much debt on them that it’s nearly impossible to get out of it. Furthermore, in a speech made by Sir Ken Robinson called “Changing Education
Do I think college is right for everyone? No. However, I do see the value college has to offer. Though, you might not be able to make much more per hour, than say an employee with a high school education. But, college allows you to get the job before the applicant without the degree does.
If it was free, people wouldn’t worry about paying, students would work harder to get accepted into big schools, and it would give people in a lower class have more opportunities. The first reason college should be free is, that people won’t worry about paying when they’re not given a scholarship. There are several people who don’t even go to college and end up starting up their own businesses because they know what they’d go through and they couldn’t pay. They
