Education has always been regarded as the key to success, not only for individuals, but for countries as well. No prosperous country has become prosperous without investing on its education system. Philippines, a developing country, was the last country in Asia and one of only three countries across the world who practiced a 10-year pre-university cycle. With only 10 years of basic education and 4 years of undergraduate education, the Philippines has the shortest education cycle in the world. Having this education cycle is not enough for Filipino graduates to be internationally recognized. Thus, they lack the knowledge, skills, and competencies they need to be considered as professionals abroad. Since the country will join the APEC Trade Regime …show more content…
Up until now that it has become a law and been implemented for few years already, there are still a lot of people who are not in favor of this. Many groups of people including teachers, parents, activists, and a lot more are still arguing through their continuous persistent protests (that can be found not only in the roads and in front of the government and education institutions, but also in social networking sites) to stop the implementation of the K-12 program. According to them, adding two more years to the education cycle is clearly an impractical move, considering how difficult and problematic it is especially in times right now for children to finish school. The dropout rates are increasing and with a huge percentage of Filipino families experiencing poverty and receiving poor amount of income, children become unfortunate with decreasing chances of finishing school. In addition to that, they are claiming that the government should have given more attention to solving other prominent issues in the society nowadays like corruption, drugs, crimes, etc.,. It seems like complaints, arguments, and objections with regards to the K-12 program will have to take a very long time to
Starting Tuesday January 17, 2017 – TODAY - all students must park in the upper student parking lot. This includes late arrival and early dismissal students. We are having to do this because students have taken over the front lot and our visitors do not have anywhere to park. If you are parked in the front parking lot today, talk to Officer Pearson as soon as you can.
It would affect the farmers and crops and vegetables that come from our local farmer could be coming in late to our local stores. There is no equality; there are twelve months and ten months are spent during the school year and school is already long enough and students deserve a break. They are working ten out of twelve months and complaining they get too much homework from each class and it takes over their two day weekend (Saturday and Sunday), then they don’t get anything to do on their time. Therefore the TDSB shouldn’t switch to a year around school schedule because they would cause too much trouble for students and families (farmers). So the TDSB shouldn’t switch to a year around school
I am writing on behalf of the 8th Grade Class at Monticello Trails Middle School to persuade you to publish a book for Kansas. Kansas would like a book because 46 out of 50 states do not have a Goodnight Series book and Kansas is one of those 4 states that do not. I believe that Kansas deserves to be included in the Goodnight Series because many people believe that Kansas is a boring state but there are many things that other states do not have that are in Kansas. Kansas has so much to offer to the Goodnight Series because Kansas is home to some of the most iconic things. Kansas is the soccer capital of the United States where men and women play soccer on the Sporting KC team and some on the USA team.
Today I am honored to be standing here presenting the Conn Smythe trophy to my friend Duncan Keith. The Conn Smythe is awarded to the most valuable player during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I first heard of this tremendous defensemen back in the 2009-10 season where he helped prevail the Chicago Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. It seems like Duncan never has a bad season and makes very few mistakes on the ice. The amount of time he puts into this game really shows his dedication and love for hockey.
It’s August again and that means that it’s just about time for the Minnesota State Fair. This time of the year we like to take a break from food safety certification MN and HACCP testing to take in the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of this once a year event. From ogling prize winning agricultural feats, to taking in concerts, to finding the most audacious, rule-breaking, deep-fried items on a stick, there is something for everyone. This week, we’d like to share exactly why we think our fair is the best the country has to offer. Every state says that their state fair is bigger and better than the rest, but us Minnesotans believe otherwise.

His name is Andre Jones, Andre is the captain of the basketball team and star player. Even though Brittney is around Andre during basketball games, she still refuses to talk to him or go near him.
Government will make more money, families will be less stress free and won’t have to try and survive paycheck to paycheck. Oh, and schools will have to enforce a harder curriculum which will hopefully actually challenge student, and help them in the long run. Schooling already takes up a big portion in people's life. Why not reduce the number of years these kids have to sit in a desk and “learn.” People need to quit complaining about “more education” when there are people dying cancer everyday.
Jeremy, Ready I’m going spastic: I really don’t need to drink.. or pot.. I think they calmed me down if anything. I always heard if you type in caps it means you are yelling… I don’t yell much in person because I feel if you want to hear what I have to say listen closely.
This allows school districts with little or no money for building expansions to handle a growing student population and save millions of dollars in construction costs.” (Nair 2). Saving so much money could help schools afford better teaching equipment, which would most likely improve student grades. Next, a drawback is that it could be hard on families if the children have different school schedules. The change could make it difficult to plan a family vacation, go to summer camps,

By the end of my speech, 212 underprivileged children around the world would be clenching their stomach and wobbling from garbage dumps to garbage dumps, searching for half- eaten food. 5 children in India would leave school to work in a dilapidated undergarment factory for 14 straight hours, enduring whipping, and pain just for 3 bowls of rice. 3 children in Africa would be dead after being beheaded by heartless invaders. The power to change this situation lies with every one of you present today. Basic necessity such as food, basic education, security are few of many things that underprivileged children lack.
‘Poverty’- a simple word with unlimited connotations. Poverty is a universal issue that has been plaguing our Earth for centuries; thus it is essential that the immensity of the situation is acknowledged by everyone. If looked up, you’ll find the exact definition of poverty being: ’general scarcity, dearth, or the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions or money. [1] Poverty is a multifaceted concept, which includes social, economic, and political elements. [2] Poverty may be defined as either absolute or relative.’
According to Dr. Jose Rizal “Ang kabataan ang siyang pag-asa ng bayan” that’s why education should be plan wisely. Having a good quality of education is having a powerful community; if people in the community are educated then economy will be better. If we want to have a better economy of coarse we should have knowledge and skillful graduates that industry needs. To meet the goal we must improve our education system and the key to that is to implement and support k-12 K-12 was implementing starting 2011 and by 2013 president Aquino signed the k-12 into law, adding 3 years to country basic education curriculum.
