Education has always been regarded as the key to success, not only for individuals, but for countries as well. No prosperous country has become prosperous without investing on its education system. Philippines, a developing country, was the last country in Asia and one of only three countries across the world who practiced a 10-year pre-university cycle. With only 10 years of basic education and 4 years of undergraduate education, the Philippines has the shortest education cycle in the world. Having this education cycle is not enough for Filipino graduates to be internationally recognized. Up until now that it has become a law and been implemented for few years already, there are still a lot of people who are not in favor of this. Many groups of people including teachers, parents, activists, and a lot more are still arguing through their continuous persistent protests (that can be found not only in the roads and in front of the government and education institutions, but also in social networking sites) to stop the implementation of the K-12 program. According to them, adding two more years to the education cycle is clearly an impractical move, considering how difficult and problematic it is especially in times right now for children to finish school. The dropout rates are increasing and with a huge percentage of Filipino families experiencing poverty and receiving poor amount of income, children become unfortunate with decreasing chances of finishing school. In addition to that, they are claiming that the government should have given more attention to solving other prominent issues in the society nowadays like corruption, drugs, crimes, etc.,. It seems like complaints, arguments, and objections with regards to the K-12 program will have to take a very long time to
