In this we will look at recycling, what it means, examples of recycling and how it affects its societies , the different types of programs initiated to help recycling to be put across, the advantages and disadvantages of this and in conclusion the general opinion on whether recycling should be motioned or ignored. Some of the examples shown will be from foreign countries but can be applied to Kenya and the third world to curb issues of pollution reasons why recycling is a responsibility not an option.

About 46 different types of plastic are used in consumer products and some products contain several kinds of plastic. Many plastic containers and other items are thrown away and end up as litter on roadsides and beaches. Each year, they threaten terrestrial animal species as well as millions of seabirds, marine mammals and sea turtles which can easily mistake a plastic sandwich bag for a jelly fish or get caught in discarded plastic nets.
Plastics discarded on beaches or dumped into the oceans from ships can disintegrate into very small particles that resemble the pray of a variety of organisms. These indigestible particles can fill the stomachs of birds and other sea creatures and cause dehydration, Malnutrition and eventually starvation. Advantages of recycling
1. It protects the environment, it reduces the amount of trees being cut annually and also upholds the recycling of paper leading to the reduction in air pollution by paper factories
2. Reduces energy consumption, a lot of energy is used in the retrieving of raw materials needed at the time of manufacturing
3. Reduces pollution, industrial waste in the modern time is the main source of pollution
4. Reduces global warming, it helps in that most of the harmful gases that deplete the o-zone layer come from industrial plants thus in recycling this is stopped as they produce less greenhouse gases
5. Conserves natural resources, by the term recycling which is basically to be used in the same or a different purpose again thus allows for natural resources to be used less.
6. Judicial and sustainable use of resources, the process ensures that there is no discriminate use of any materials when available in plenty in the
