By partaking in a more instructional capacity, I will also be expanding my skills. To improve and become more capable in the Professional Support Services pathway as a possible instructional coordinator, I could volunteer to teach a skill to others. Another area of needed improvement involves expanding my expertise in my field. As an undergraduate student, I am still a novice in the field of psychology. To improve and become more accomplished in the Teaching and Training pathway, such as the position of a psychology teacher, I could read more journal articles and expand my knowledge of studies, treatment, and terminology.
If I want to help other people to be happy, I will have to achieve my own happiness first. In order to do that, I will do the things that I love the most. For example, traveling and meeting new people. I also believe that one of the best way to get to people and help them is by getting a great education to use and pursue a major in a career that relates to helping people. Therefore, I would like to travel around the world, pursue a major in psychology, and find a job in a psychology field where I am able to get to other people personally and help them.
The other subject I am interested in incorporating into my education path is psychology. The way the human brain works and how this affects an individual’s personality, struggles, abilities, and impulses, is a fascinating topic to me. The main goal of studying psychology is to be able to understand human behavior and how mental and behavioral problems can be addressed. Improving the quality of life of a patient is as much as a mental and emotional process as it is physical. If I was able to help a patient through issues in their life and make a positive impact on how they function daily, it would bring me great joy and
I plan to take Physiological Psychology and Statistics for Social Science. I hope these courses will teach me to understand others and relate to them in a respectful way. Validating individual perspectives encourages further engagement and cooperation. Science/Description The scientific field is logical thinking in action. Reasoned judgement is a learned skill that is necessary for people to apply to many situations.
Unfortunately, findings from classroom assessment research has revealed a gap between the recommended and the actual assessment practices regardless of teachers’ gender and teaching experience (Alsarimi, 2000). Brookhart (2001) stated that “grading theory and practices will be better connected once the role of classroom assessment and grading practices in student achievement motivation and, it seems reasonable to argue that to be able to understand and make sense out of the gap between assessment experts’ recommendations and teachers’ assessment practices, it is important to find out the possible effects of these practices on students’ achievement goals as one aspect of student motivation for learning. Improved tests can still be improved further
Also, it teaches them to take notes to understand more and to learn more vocabulary. It specifically allows them to be more focused during their classes. Figure 1 below shows a summary of the different benefits of study skills. Figure 1: Benefits of study skills Problems that study skills cannot solve In some situations, study skills cannot be the key to being successful. Different people have different problems.
The students would also be one of the beneficiaries of this research as they will be able to know the more applicable way of learning suitable for them. Moreover, the students’ learning can be enriched through the analysis and application of their studies. Through this research, the students can come up of the best possible ways to cope with learning
5). The first argument is the preparation of students for working life in a society that is increasingly IT oriented. However, due to the rapid change in IT, the equipment and software that today 's school student’s use would be quite different from those they will use when they enter the work force! The second argument asserts that the use of IT in education will introduce students and teachers to a new paradigm of learning where information literacy, problem solving and knowledge transfer are valued far more than the knowledge itself. I believe the second argument to be more acceptable to educational practitioners.
