( Armitage, page 7). In simpler terms, Moriwaki’s has a great lack of emotions and has been labeled a “psychopath”. A psychopath is defined as a person that suffers from a chronic medical disorder and has a violent or abnormal behavior. Psychopathic traits are often associated with criminal behavior. With this in mind, Moriwaki’s lack of emotions and psychopathic personality has lead to the murder of Kurose.
Through the case study of Robert P. Hanssen, we can highlight that psychopathy is still
The video about Tommy Lynn Sells is an interesting investigation into the brain of a serial killer. In the video, Dr. Adrian Raine discussed new research which suggests that killers have a genetic disposition to murder. The doctor explained how the brains of killers have structural impairment to the amygdala, which is involved in the generation of emotion, hence many serial killers and psychopaths lack conscience, guilt and remorse. Serial killers also do not have normal feelings of revulsion or disgust. Most interesting to me, the doctor described how it is a combination of biology and environmental factors that raise the odds of becoming a violent criminal offender.
The film “Murder by Number” also includes medical issues, including brain damage, as contributing to the violence of many serial killers. Some criminologists and psychiatrists believe that serial killers kill because of issues with their families. These issues include failure to properly bond with
Sometimes, human beings can become murderers or monsters to each other when driven by their inner feelings. In the play "The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street," a normal neighborhood in the USA, we can see how suspicion among the residents leads to cruelty toward one another. It starts with a resident's car starting up without him there, and suspicion rises to the point where people start yelling, throwing things, and even shooting. Through suspicion, blame, and violence, we can see how human beings can act irrationally and self-destruct when they are driven by fear or panic.
To provide evidence to the defense attorney, Dr. Kiehl reveals how he was able to find the reason for the crime in his memoir, The Psychopath Whisperer: The Science Of Those Without Conscience, by going over Dugan's adolescent life, the results of his Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and finally revealing that he showed signs of psychopathy. Dugan's adolescent life is one that cannot be ignored and gives Dr. Kiehl an idea as to why he may have committed the

For this project I'm going to be talking about the murder of Matt Caldwell. Dexter is about a guy named Dexter that kills people he believes are bad; like murders, thefts , really anyone that does a bad deed. I chose to watch Dexter: New Blood episode 7-10. These /episodes are about Dexter killing Matt Caldwell. Matt was a well known guy from their small little town.
In the American television series known as Dexter, the main character Dexter kills murderers based off a code that his father taught him. Law enforcement never caught the murderers while Dexter found all the evidence needed to prove who the murderers were. The way that Dexter gathers his evidence shows a procedure that gets results which mocks the justice system in real life. The results also mock the police since police cannot catch every murderer. Dexter killing these criminals ends up showing that lack of fair trials occurs.
This supports the fact that he became a serial killer because of his desires, characteristics and mentality. He mentioned being antisocial and prowling the streets in search of abandoned pornographic material or unlocked windows through which he might observe unwary women (Crimemuseum.org, 2022). Being antisocial can be named as a disorder, in most cases disorders are linked with genetics. Thus, his actions were mostly influenced by his disorders such as, antisocial personality, bipolar personality, borderline personality and many more disorders. This goes to show that his loving home made him have good qualities and grow up to be a good individual however, this later changed and all of his actions are linked to many different

The television show You demonstrates many aspects of sociopathy throughout its four seasons. Protagonist, Joe Goldberg, has fallen into deep obsessions with women, often leading to stalking, violence, and even murder because of the “love” he claims to possess for them. A sociopath is an individual with a history of serious and usually violent criminal activity. It is very similar to psychopathy, but the main distinguishing factor is that sociopaths can be capable of feeling some remorse after their crimes, unlike psychopaths. Sociopathy also seems to stem from the environment rather than biological.
A serial killer’s violent rage may reflect the abuse and neglect endured in childhood. Their intense hatred cultivated in the early stages of childhood now will be directed at their unsuspecting victims. In The Killers Among Us, Stephen Egger claims that many case studies of mass and serial murderers discovered a reoccurring background of ”neglect and early years spent in extreme social and psychological deprivation” (Egger 29). Continually, Egger states that the most common aspect of the serial killer’s histories was the physical abuse and violent punishments inflicted on them as a child. As a result, their subconscious stores these traumatic memories and emotions, which later has a powerful result on their behaviors and emotional life
