Maturity Development In Boys
There is no precise age when puberty starts in boys. It depends on the body structure of boys, different bodies develop differently. In boys, puberty begins between 12 and 14 years and the process may start as early as 9 years of age. In other words, puberty begins when the body is ready for the developments.
The initial signs of puberty that boys experience are growth of pubic hair and testicle growth. The testicles grow about 4 millimeters during the onset of puberty and grow up to 25 millimeters at full sexual maturity. The maturity development in boys differs from girls and the duration of sexual maturity from puberty differs amongst different boys. This is development is because of hormonal changes going through the body which occurs in majority of boys and the duration may go on for about two or three years.
Other changes include voice become deeper like adults, hair growth in the face and arm pits and some may notice acne in the face.
During puberty period boys begin to experience more sexual urge because of more attraction towards girls develops and also develops strong feelings towards love affairs. This is a period filled with mood swinging as moods will change such as very happy mood and a sudden shift to a sad feeling.
Sexual longing and erection begin to occur at puberty in boys. The penis will harden when it filled up with blood. The penis becomes much bigger when erection happens. During this period erection will be common and it can occur at any time and sometimes it may not even happen in some boys. Before the onset of the puberty is the right time to impart sex education and awareness to kids. It will help the children to clear their doubts and to get relieved from mental disturbance due to unusual changes they experience in their body and mind.
Sex education and awareness counselings to boys helps them to understand the process of semen production in body, how child birth happens, intercourse and the risk and preventive measure to be taken care of etc. The boys also should get an idea about the anatomy of female body, nature of sexual organ and the process of child bearing in female which will help them to get rid of the unscientific knowledge acquired from others.
