However even simple factors such as giving specific rather than general praise, showing interest in things their child shows interest in and establishing routines that promote health, well being and regular study still do make a difference in the way that children view school and learning and the value they hold to their working relationship with teachers. Parents can help the school and their children develop is supporting homework expectations attending open days and parents evenings. Homework is set by teachers when they feel it necessary to check the understanding of what was taught in the lesson, or to expand their knowledge further. If parents are there to support, help and encourage this to be completed it creates a positive learning environment and teaches organisational and study skills that will stay with the child(ren) for life.
It would be a priority to add on to teaching methods with lots of positive and motivational speeches towards the students; focusing on what the kids want to be or do in life. There are some school and few teachers out there that focuses on this policy, but not all schools make it their priority. We could then continue as parents. Parents play a big part as well in children 's lives. We need to get more parents to think like a middle class parents, having direct involvement in their child’s success.
Although teachers’ main purpose is to teach students, there are those rare few educators that befriend their students, which typically makes the children less stressed out, because the teachers they have befriended will not seem intimidating. Teachers are often viewed as ominous, and students normally eschew their teachers, but what they don’t always notice that teachers dedicate their career to helping and educating their assigned kids, which is, really, a gift on its own. Besides a variety of teachers, there are also tons of types of schools to choose from. Across the world, there are many different ways to make students educated.
There is also a short story about Otis Orchards Elementary School on pages 133-134, and explains that the teachers there went through extensive training about how to help children dealing with trauma or problematic home situations. Wedge then goes on to talk about how the children at this school were better behaved and scoring higher on tests after this training had been implemented, essentially arguing that adverse personal lives should be properly dealt with at school in order to combat ADHD-like symptoms. Showing a real-life example of how this training was having a positive impact on children causes the reader
However, the best available evidence is strongly positive about home-school student learning. The available evidence certainly seems to indicate otherwise. Harm to Public Education. Home schooling limits public school enrollments and therefore reduces the amounts of money state governments provide to local school districts. Which decreases the numbers of parents who are wanting to increase their children’s education (“Brookings”)
This is a key part in schools today because it’s enforcing a higher bar of achievement for teachers and students (Catapano, 2018). Implementing standards into a school system that are internationally benchmarked means all states and countries have a way of measuring their academic performance. They can use this also as a tool to compile scores and understand the weaknesses to improve students’ knowledge. This provides teachers with various ways to assess their students more frequently through observations and informal assessments to understand the student’s comprehension level of the lesson material. It will help the teachers to strive to improve her test scores by adapting lesson materials to the needs of each
School and teachers can influence the extent and quality of learning for all students. Teacher’s beliefs, practices and attitudes are important for understanding and improving educational processes. They are closely linked to teachers’ strategies for coping with challenges in their daily professional life. Educators have control over numerous factors that influence motivation, achievement and behaviour of students. They are turning around their approach into a focus on creating positive school climate and responsive classroom as part of holistic quality education based on child rights where there is effective teaching and classroom management, thus enhancing students’ learning experiences.
I feel that the consequence policy had appropriate consequences for different violations, I thought that having different consequences for different levels of offenses was a good idea for the elementary school. Consequences are extremely important for students to learn how to behave and what is and is not appropriate for them to do in school. The curriculum enforcement policy ties directly into my group (the curriculum committee). The curriculum enforcement policy had different parts that were incorporated into it that all passed, most of the policy focused directly on having the teachers collaborate with one another. As a future educator I agreed with the policy immensely, I feel that in order to have a successful teaching staff collaboration is key.
Teachers are giving you pratice test after practice test trying to get you ready for the real one when they should be trying to teach you what you need to know for those tests. In the classroom, there are more opportunities for people to learn at their own pace and in their own way,but when taking all of the test they are required to take,it makes it harder and harder for that to happen,”It has been suggested that performance assessments, popularized as an important component in educational reform movements, will reduce differences among groups because they provide students with hands-on opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of how to solve problems rather than requiring students to simply recall facts” (Shavelson 4). When people are in any classroom setting they would much rather learn things to help them in their future they just recall facts that have no relevance to their lives or career choices. Preparing and studying for a test that revolve around topics that have no purdance in your life as well as a waste of time and money, yes in school you have to learn some things that you most likely will never use but that comes with being in school, but having a whole test revolve around things you will not need is just a waste. So why waste all that when you could use all that time and money for things that
Because there is no easy way of doing this without tests, it is our only option. Collages and teachers use standardized testing for finding capable student. for this reason standardized testing can not be remove from the school system. It is an invaluable tool for getting a basis of the level of a
I think standardized test really help you recall everything you 've learned about. I think students take standardized test because it helps them remember everything they have studied about. The purpose is so they don 't forget what they were taught. I think they can be useful for helping you with future things you will learn about. I don 't think there are problems with standardized test I think they are good for refreshing your learning skills.
It becomes the blueprint for the student’s education for the current school year.” I think looking at the IEP in this light is so incredibly important. If teachers and parents understand that it is both the “blueprint” and an accountability tool, the IEP will be more effective and meaningful. Every student deserves to have the best possible education, and the IEP helps to ensure that this happens among students with disabilities.
