1.1 INTRODUCTION Malaysia urban development shows a rapid growth in order to achieve high income nation in 2020. Sustainable development highlight by government require balance between environment, economy and social. Development in transportation through comprehensive and well performing transport system is an important enabler of sustained economic prosperity. In addition, transportation is one of the main issues stated in the Thrust 3 of Malaysian National Urban Policy that aims for an integrated and efficient urban transportation system. Since KLIA Transit train provide transit to three station including Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya/ Cyberjaya and Salak Tinggi, people also tend to use KLIA Transit train service to access to that areas. Without realise the passenger tend to expose with particulate matter from ambient environment and rail emission itself. Emission sources from on-road vehicles and airport might travel to inside-train during door opening. Frequent uses of commuting increase the time exposure to particulate matter. Thus study regarding air quality inside train is very useful to access the surrounding concentration of the particulate matter. Ultrafine particle will made up the other particulate matter with larger size such as PM2.5 and PM10. To determine indoor air quality inside KLIA Transit Train from Kuala Lumpur Sentral station to Kuala Lumpur International Airport station. 1.3.2 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES a. To determine relationship between PM2.5 and time during commuting in KLIA Transit Train b. To identify concentration of PM2.5 in KLIA Transit Train during peak hours and non-peak hours c.
