PUV 's or Public Utility Vehicle are one of the necessity of the people, necessity or one of the basic needs of everyone’s lives. Necessity in terms of most of the people are using PUV 's. PUV 's has a bug significance, in this country not all Filipinos has a private vehicle. Almost 98% of people are using PUV 's. People are using vehicle rather PUV 's to travel in work, school, business, etc. PUV or Public Utility Vehicles are very helpful specially for those persons who doesn 't have their own Vehicles. The Jeepneys will not totally phase out. It 's just to vitalize and guarantee the ability to earn profits of the jeepney business. (Tugade 2017). But there are people who are against to this implementation. Despite of this, there was a strike happened. Most of the drivers join this transport strike to communicate their thoughts not to pursue the implementation of this. The government plans to replace all old PUVs aged 15 years or older with environment-friendly jeepneys that have safety features. (Francisco & Kimiko 2017) It will have speed limiter, CCTV, GPS and dashboard camera. The vehicles will also be equipped with PWD-friendly features and free Wi-Fi for the convenience of commuters. Overall, the goal of this modernization is to have safer and more environment friendly transportation. Despite the transportations strike against the project, the government still plans to modernize the public utility vehicle. The transport strike will not deter the government from implementing the project. (Wignot, Triangel Fire) In this case, Triangle Factory workers had very little power compared to their employers because they were lower-class working people and the bosses were upper-class and wealthy. They could never improve their working conditions as individuals because they would be fired if they complained about their jobs to the bosses. So the labor union was the best way to combine their resources and power together collectively to create benefit for all workers.
I would compare it to a child throwing a tantrum after not getting their way. It inconvenienced thousands of students, denying them an education. The Board of education was forced to compromise to restore stability within the community. If I were in this situation and had the responsibility of deciding which action to take a strike would be last resort.
