Introduction: The fascinating branch of mathematics is the theory of numbers where in Pythagorean triangles have been a matter of interest to various mathematicians and to the lovers of mathematics, because it is a treasure house in which the search for many hidden connection is a treasure hunt. For a rich variety of fascinating problems one may refer [1-9,12-18,20-23].A careful observer of patterns may note that there is a one to one correspondence between the polygonal numbers and the number of sides of the polygon. In [10,11,19], special Pythagorean triangles connected with polygonal numbers and Nasty numbers are obtained. In [24] pairs of distinct Pythagorean triangles such that in each pair the difference between their perimeter is represented by i) ii) iii) iv) are obtained. In [25], different methods of obtaining pairs of Pythagorean triangles which are such that, in each pair, the difference between the product of their generators is a perfect square. …show more content…
Also we have presented with suitable properties obtained from the generators of Pythagorean triangles.
Method of Analysis It is well known that the Pythagorean triangle is represented by equation whose most cited solution is , , , (1) Here p, q are called generators of Pythagorean
double atan2 (doubly y, double x) It will return the arc tangent in terms of radians of y/x based on the signs of both values to determine the correct quadrant. double cos (double x) It will return the cosine of a radian angle x. double cosh (double x) It will return the hyperbolic cosine of
Stone Follari Summary In Flatland, everything is made of two dimensional shapes. Men are the polygons and women are the straight lines. Isosceles triangles make up the working class and soldiers; the sharp point made by the isosceles triangle is used as a weapon. Equilateral triangles- since they are normal- compose the merchants.
Salem Alsari Mat 301 Dec,2017 Mathematics Through The Eyes of Faith The main aim of James Bradley and Russell Howell’s book is basically to address the unfamiliar relationship between mathematics as a major in the field of science and Christian/religious beliefs. Mathematics Through The Eyes of Faith consists of eleven chapters with each one representing an important common subject of the connection between math and faith. For example: infinity, dimensionality, chance. Moreover, each chapter ends with a list of substitute exercises for the student. Some of them are good old fashioned, logical mathematical exercises that would interest even the most advanced students of mathematics.
The essay discusses about an activity aimed for the children to engage in a number pattern. The activity links to both the EYMCT results and the four elements of pattern, namely, questioning, play, assessment and manipulatives, and how they help children enhance their knowledge about patterns. Mathematical ideas needed by an educator Patterns could be seen all around us, with an arrangement following a given criteria or set of rules (Knaus, 2013, p.22). It is imperative for the educators to see and use the regularity or repetition of pattern to predict, expect and plan the outcome (Department of Education, Western Australia (DEWA), 2013, p.200, KU1). Educator should possess the knowledge about the numerical or spatial regularity and also the relationship that exists among various components of a pattern (Bobis , Mulligan & Lowrie, 2013, p.55).
Countless things happen every day. Some are good, some are bad. In the novel of Fallen Angles by Walter Dean Myers, the story follows young men soldiers who fight in the Vietnam War. Perry and Peewee who are from New York City and Chicago, respectively. The only reason for Perry going to Vietnam just because of paperwork mistakes.
The accounts of the defeat of Babylon from Herodotus and the Cyrus Cylinder are polar opposite, one defeat is through attack while the other is a peaceful take over. Herodotus’ version indicates that Cyrus was led by a need for power, Herodotus writes that after “having subdued the rest of the continent, [Cyrus] turned his attention to Assyria” (78). In Herodotus’ account, after Cyrus spent an entire summer “punishing” a river, he was met with Babylonians awaiting his arrival, and they “attacked him, but they were defeated and forced to retire inside their defences” (83). In order to concur Babylon, Cyrus manipulated Euphrates, allowing his troops to capture the outskirts “without the people in the centre knowing anything about it” (Herodotus 84). Herodotus’ version also states that the people of Babylon were happy before Cyrus invaded the city, they were celebrating during a festival and “continued to dance and enjoy themselves, until they learned the news the hard way” (84).
Epictetus I really feel that quote is deep I will explain on that topic later on in the paper. He was really ahead of his time. I chose Epictetus because he stated facts in my opinion, also he was a slave, and he stands on what he believes. I feel like as a result of his stoic philosophy teaching that his thoughts live on even in today era. Let me elaborate with the slave accusations.
Khwarizmi and other mathematician’s established major advances in math and astronomy which proved to help generations to come after their deaths, the achievements made by these scholars proved to be huge and a history changing element used to this day in the modern era of math and astronomy. In conclusion, the huge impacts the achievements made in math and medicine helped shape the history of both subjects, providing a foundation to build upon through centuries later by rising scholars in the era’s to come. Muslim’s rebuilt the scholarship era, building the cultural center in Spain proved to be an incredible achievement itself as the center established a foundation for education and important figures in the subjects of math, astronomy, science, and religion. There is no doubt these 3 achievements produced by Muslims shaped the foundation of education and the subjects under schooling; the achievements impacted the world in a way which had not been seen yet and influenced other cultures to push for similar influences in their
Antigone: Gender Difference and Power As we are all aware that for generations, gender difference and power have been an issue for centuries. That being said the play Antigone by Sophocles, displays many examples of these struggles. The main topics that will be discussed, are: Antigone’s background history in Oedipus the King, the conflict between Creon the king of Thebes and Antigone, the gender difference and power. In order to know who Antigone is, you must know some of her and her families background, which is from the play of Oedipus the King.
The purpose of this essay is to show that the relationship of Antigone and Polyneices is indeed largely traditional and although there are some textual passages that might support the
Epictetus’s way of philosophy is one that is purely Stoic, imploring that the solution to human finitude is one where humans can live life without showing feeling or complaining about pain and hardships towards unsavory situations. Each of his rules in his handbook offers advice in which the subject simply “deals” with disappointment, or rather, doesn’t expect something out of the scopes of reason and logic, so that, figuratively, when occurrences don’t go their way, they aren’t disappointed. This is because to Epictetus, all external events in life are pre-determined by fate, so it’s already out of our hands from the beginning. With a calm dispassion, or indifference, we approach our fate and accept it. This is shown in his rules in The Handbook,
There are many peoples out there tells that “The Devil’s Triangle” has some mysterious secrets and factors. That is why so many incidents happened there. According to Agathe Armand, he expresses some rational facts which is believable and related to those incidents. In my point of view, I believes that what said by “Agathe Armand” might be the truth. Part B Introduction The importance of Geometry Children need a wealth of practical and creative experiences in solving mathematical problems. Mathematics education is aimed at children being able to make connections between mathematics and daily activities; it is about acquiring basic skills, whilst forming an understanding of mathematical language and applying that language to practical situations. Mathematics also enables students to search for simple connections, patterns, structures and rules whilst describing and investigating strategies. Geometry is important as Booker, Bond, Sparrow and Swan (2010, p. 394) foresee as it allows children the prospect to engage in geometry through enquiring and investigation whilst enhancing mathematical thinking, this thinking encourages students to form connections with other key areas associated with mathematics and builds upon students abilities helping students reflect
INTRODUCTION This chapter presents the background and describes the overview of this study which aims to analyze the influence of mathematical ability on subject performance of accounting students in De La Salle Lipa. Background of the Study Numbers dominate every aspect of business transactions, especially the accounting profession. Mathematics has a significant role in the business education and in the world of business. The discipline of accounting focuses on accurate numerical measurement where practitioners this field should be comfortable in dealing with mathematics.
Theory of Knowledge Essay “Without application in the world, the value of knowledge is greatly diminished.” Consider this claim with respect to two areas of knowledge. In contemporary society, it is often argued that the value of knowledge is determined by its application to the real life situations. I am of an emphatic opinion that without application, the value of knowledge certainly abates.
